How Can I Retrieve a Message From My VISTA 21iP Keypad?
The 6160V, 6150V,and 5828V keypads all support a message center feature. The 6160V and 6150V support the recording of a single message up to 2.5 minutes in length. The 5828V can record a single message up to 20 seconds in length. Retrieve messages on each keypad using the following steps:
On the 6160V and 6150V:
- A new message is indicated by a flashing “Message” Led
- Press Function [#] + Voice [0] + Play [3]
- The message will be played, and the message LED will stop flashing.
- Any recorded message stays in the keypad memory, and can be played again. A message is deleted only when a new message is recorded over it.
On the 5828V:
- When powered by AC, a new message will be indicated by a continuously flashing Message LED. When powered by battery, the message LED will only flash once the keypad is “awake”, such as after status is requested.
- Press Function [#] + Play [3]
- The message will be played, and the message LED will stop flashing.
- Once again, the message stays in memory until a new message is recorded over it.
A few notes:
Each message is stored locally in its respective keypad, will be indicated only by that keypad, and can only be played from that keypad.
When a 5828V is used in conjunction with a Lynx control panel, which supports its own message feature, if the 5828V speaks the word "Message" this means a message is stored in the main control panel, and can only be played back from there.
On the 5828V, muting system status announcements has no affect on message recording or playback. If you adjust volume during message playback, system status announcement will be re-enabled automatically, and you will need to mute again once finished. To mute, press Function [#] + Volume [2] + Off [1].
