observed. The WS4985/
WS8985 is a one-way wire-
less flood detector intended
for use with compatible DSC
Security Systems. Multiple WS4985/ WS8985 flood detec-
tors can be enrolled on and supervised by the same security
panel up to the maximum number of zones supported by
that panel. The flood detector consists of a water sensor and
a wireless transmitter that are connected by a 1.82m(6ft)
wire cable. This device continuously monitors for unaccept-
able water levels. If water is detected (e.g., when both
probes are in contact with the water), the WS4985/
WS8985 wirelessly communicates this alarm condition to
the control panel receiver.

Activate, Locate, and Operate
The WS4985/WS8985 comes with the battery pre-
installed. To activate it, hold the WS4985/WS8985 trans-
mitter firmly in one hand and pull the plastic tab in the
direction indicated. Then, select the locations where the
transmitter and sensor will be mounted. For detailed opera-
tion of your alarm system, refer to the Alarm System user
manual.
Enroll, Program, and Place
The one-way wireless flood detector must be enrolled on the
security panel before it can transmit system events, supervi-
sory signals, or provide the local WS4985/WS8985 status
(e.g., case and wall tamper switch state, battery state, and
line cut state). The following outlines the basic steps for pro-
gramming and enrolling this device on PC9155 series secu-
rity panels. For additional options or for other systems
please refer to the specific receiver or security system instal-
lation manuals.
Step 1-Enrolling
The WS4985/WS8985 flood detector can be enrolled by
Quick Enroll or manually by Serial Number Programming.
Perform one of the following:
Quick Enroll (1-7)
1. Enter [*][8] [Installer Code] [898] on the system key-
pad.
2. Place the Flood Detector near the Control panel.
3. Tamper the
WS4985/WS8985 by
opening the transmit-
ter housing.
4. The Keypad displays the ESN (electronic serial number).
Press [*] to confirm it.
5. Select the zone number the device will occupy.
6. Select the zone type the device will follow; 24hr Water is
recommended.
NOTE: The electronic serial number is a 6-digit alphanu-
meric number located on a sticker on the wireless device.
7. Repeat Steps 2 to 6 to enroll additional WS4985/
WS8985.
Serial Number Programming (1-6)
1. Enter [*][8] [Installer Code] on a system keypad.
2. Enter [804] to enter ESN (electronic serial number) pro-
gramming.
3. Enter the desired subsections [001]-[032] (e.g., [001]
zone 1... [032] zone 32).
4. Enter “00”. Enter the 6-digit ESN (on the back of the
unit) in the next available zone slot.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to enroll additional devices.
6. Press [#] to exit the current programming section.
Step 2-Program Zone Definition
1. Enter Section [001] - [002].
2. Assign the corresponding zone with the appropriate zone
type ([19] 24hr Water).
NOTE: All wireless devices must be tested for good signal
strength from where they are positioned.
Step 3-Device Placement Test
1. Enter Section [904].
2. To start the test, open the wireless transmitter housing
(Figure 3) or short the probes of the water sensor with a
screwdriver.
NOTE: It is recommended that you placement test the
flood detector with the water sensor connected.
NOTE: There is a 3 to 5 second delay until an alarm is sent
by the device.
3. The control panel is programmed to respond with 1 beep
if the location is “Good”, and 3 beeps if the location is
“Bad”. If the location is “Bad” change locations and
repeat Step 2.
Device Mounting
Once the proper location for the device is determined the
WS4985/WS8985 can be permanently mounted.
NOTE:
The installer is responsible for ensuring that the
WS4985
/WS8985
is securely mounted in the intended location
.
Water Sensor
The water sensor must be mounted so both probes of the
device are touching water when an alarm condition is
desired. The
water sensor should be mounted at low spots
where water will first accumulate
(e.g., floor).
Secure the
water sensor to the mounting surface with the screws pro-
vided. There are mounting holes for wall and floor surfaces
if you are installing the device in these locations (Figure 2).
Connect the sensor wire to the transmitter, see Wireless
Transmitter section below.
NOTE: Avoid mounting the transmitter portion of the
device behind a metal object such as a washing machine,
refrigerator, or freezer. RF signals can be affected by
metal objects.
NOTE: After every flood detection, each flood detector
should be cleaned and dried. Otherwise, the unit may not
operate as intended due to the nature of different liquids.
NOTE: After water has been cleared from the sensor head,
the alarm restoral time is approximately 1 minute.
Wireless Transmitter
Remove the backplate from the transmitter (Figure 3).
• Using Provided Screws: Mount the back of the transmit-
ter with them.
• Using Adhesive Tape: Ensure you are attaching the wire-
less transmitter to a painted and primed surface. If sur-
face conditions are unsuitable, secure the transmitter
with the mounting screws provided.
The external contact terminals of the transmitter are used to
connect the sensor wire (Figure 4). Ensure that all wiring is
stripped to 6mm (1/4”) max. and does not touch any of the
components. The sensor wire can be cut to length for the
best fit. Wire clamps should be used to keep the wire snug
to the wall. Ensure that the sensor wire is laid out in such a
way that accidents cannot occur.

Connected cables must not
be subject to excessive mechanical strain. Once the
WS4985/WS8985 is installed, test the water sensor to ver-
ify it activates in the event of an alarm condition.
Tamper Switch
Out of the box the WS4985/WS8985 transmitter comes
equipped with transmitter case tamper detection. If the trans-
mitter case is removed, the WS4985/WS8985 will report a
zone tamper to the control panel. For added security the
WS4985
/WS8985
was designed to provide wall tamper mon-
itoring as well. Simply replace the short rubber actuator (Figure
5) with the longer one that is included. With this option, if the
case is opened or if the WS4985
/WS8985
is removed from it's
location, a tamper will be sent to the control panel. It is
strongly recommended that mounting screws be used when
using the wall tamper option.
NOTE: If the sensor wire is cut, the WS4985/WS8985
reports a tamper event to the control panel.
NOTE: Test the unit at least once yearly.
Battery Replacement
To replace the battery, insert a flathead screwdriver into
either side of the transmitter and carefully twist to separate
the top and bottom plastic (Figure 3). Once separated, the
battery will be visible (Figure 4). Remove the old battery
and install the new battery. Ensure the correct polarity is
observed.

Disposal of used batteries must be made in accor-
dance with the waste recovery and recycling regulations in
your area.
Caution: The battery used in this device may
present a fire or chemical burn hazard if mistreated. Do not
recharge, disassemble, heat above 100 °C (212 °F) or dis-
pose of in fire. Replace battery with one 3V lithium battery,
Panasonic CR2 or Duracell CR2 only. Use of another battery
may present a risk of fire or explosion. Dispose of the used
batteries as per local regulations. Keep away from children

Digital Security Controls warrants that for a period of 12 months from the
date of purchase, the product shall be free of defects in materials and
workmanship under normal use and that in fulfilment of any breach of
such warranty, Digital Security Controls shall, at its option, repair or
replace the defective equipment upon return of the equipment to its repair

• This End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement
between You (the company, individual or entity who acquired the
Software and any related Hardware) and Digital Security Controls, a
division of Tyco Safety Products Canada Ltd. (“DSC”), the manufac-
turer of the integrated security systems and the developer of the soft-
ware and any related products or components (“HARDWARE”)
which You acquired.
• If the DSC software product (“SOFTWARE PRODUCT” or “SOFT-
WARE”) is intended to be accompanied by HARDWARE, and is
NOT accompanied by new HARDWARE, You may not use, copy or
install the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT
includes computer software, and may include associated media,
printed materials, and “online” or electronic documentation.
• Any software provided along with the SOFTWARE PRODUCT that
is associated with a separate end-user license agreement is licensed to
You under the terms of that license agreement.
By installing, copying, downloading, storing, accessing or otherwise
using the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, You agree unconditionally to be
bound by the terms of this EULA, even if this EULA is deemed to be a
modification of any previous arrangement or contract. If You do not
agree to the terms of this EULA, DSC is unwilling to license the SOFT-
WARE PRODUCT to You, and You have no right to use it.
SOFTWARE PRODUCT LICENSE
The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is protected by copyright laws and inter-
national copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and
treaties. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed, not sold.
1. GRANT OF LICENSE
This EULA grants You the following
rights:
(a) Software Installation and Use - For each license You acquire, You
may have only one copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT installed.

(b) Storage/Network Use - The SOFTWARE PRODUCT may not be
installed, accessed, displayed, run, shared or used concurrently on or
from different computers, including a workstation, terminal or other digi-
tal electronic device (“Device”). In other words, if You have several
workstations, You will have to acquire a license for each workstation
where the SOFTWARE will be used.
(c) Backup Copy - You may make back-up copies of the SOFTWARE
PRODUCT, but You may only have one copy per license installed at any
given time. You may use the back-up copy solely for archival purposes.
Except as expressly provided in this EULA, You may not otherwise
make copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, including the printed mate-
rials accompanying the SOFTWARE.
2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS

(a) Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation and Disassem-
bly - You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the
SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only to the extent that such activity
is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.
You may not make any changes or modifications to the Software, without
the written permission of an officer of DSC. You may not remove any
proprietary notices, marks or labels from the Software Product. You shall
institute reasonable measures to ensure compliance with the terms and
conditions of this EULA.
(b) Separation of Components - The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is
licensed as a single product. Its component parts may not be separated for
use on more than one HARDWARE unit.
(c) Single INTEGRATED PRODUCT - If You acquired this SOFT-
WARE with HARDWARE, then the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is
licensed with the HARDWARE as a single integrated product. In this
case, the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may only be used with the HARD-
WARE as set forth in this EULA.
(d) Rental - You may not rent, lease or lend the SOFTWARE PROD-
UCT. You may not make it available to others or post it on a server or
web site.
(e) Software Product Transfer - You may transfer all of Your rights
under this EULA only as part of a permanent sale or transfer of the
HARDWARE, provided You retain no copies, You transfer all of the
SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including all component parts, the media and
printed materials, any upgrades and this EULA), and provided the recipi-
ent agrees to the terms of this EULA. If the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is
an upgrade, any transfer must also include all prior versions of the SOFT-
WARE PRODUCT.
(f) Termination - Without prejudice to any other rights, DSC may termi-
nate this EULA if You fail to comply with the terms and conditions of
this EULA. In such event, You must destroy all copies of the SOFT-
WARE PRODUCT and all of its component parts.
(g) Trademarks - This EULA does not grant You any rights in connec-
tion with any trademarks or service marks of DSC or its suppliers.
3. COPYRIGHT
- All title and intellectual property rights in and to the
SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including but not limited to any images, pho-
tographs, and text incorporated into the SOFTWARE PRODUCT), the
accompanying printed materials, and any copies of the SOFTWARE
PRODUCT, are owned by DSC or its suppliers. You may not copy the
printed materials accompanying the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. All title
and intellectual property rights in and to the content which may be
accessed through use of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT are the property of
the respective content owner and may be protected by applicable copy-
right or other intellectual property laws and treaties. This EULA grants
You no rights to use such content. All rights not expressly granted under
this EULA are reserved by DSC and its suppliers.
4. EXPORT RESTRICTIONS
- You agree that You will not export or
re-export the SOFTWARE PRODUCT to any country, person, or entity
subject to Canadian export restrictions.
5. CHOICE OF LAW
- This Software License Agreement is governed
by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
6. ARBITRATION
- All disputes arising in connection with this Agree-
ment shall be determined by final and binding arbitration in accordance
with the Arbitration Act, and the parties agree to be bound by the arbitra-
tor’s decision. The place of arbitration shall be Toronto, Canada, and the
language of the arbitration shall be English.
7. LIMITED WARRANTY
(a) NO WARRANTY - DSC PROVIDES THE SOFTWARE “AS IS”
WITHOUT WARRANTY. DSC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE
SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT
OPERATION OF THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED
OR ERROR-FREE.
(b) CHANGES IN OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
-
DSC shall not be
responsible for problems caused by changes in the operating characteris-
tics of the HARDWARE, or for problems in the interaction of the SOFT-
WARE PRODUCT with non-DSC-SOFTWARE or HARDWARE
PRODUCTS.
(c) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY; WARRANTY REFLECTS ALLO-
CATION OF RISK - IN ANY EVENT, IF ANY STATUTE IMPLIES
WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS NOT STATED IN THIS LICENSE
AGREEMENT, DSC’S ENTIRE LIABILITY UNDER ANY PROVI-
SION OF THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT SHALL BE LIMITED TO
THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO
LICENSE THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT AND FIVE CANADIAN
DOLLARS (CAD$5.00). BECAUSE SOME JURISDICTIONS DO
NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE
ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
(d) DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES - THIS WARRANTY CON-
TAINS THE ENTIRE WARRANTY AND SHALL BE IN LIEU OF
ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESSED

Aktivierung, Montageort und Bedienung
Der WS4985/WS8985 wird mit vorinstallierter Batterie geliefert.
Zur Aktivierung halten Sie den WS4985/WS8985 Sender fest in
einer Hand und ziehen Sie mit der anderen Hand den
Kunststoffstreifen in der angegebenen Richtung heraus. Wählen
Sie dann die Montageorte für Sender und Sensor. Detaillierte
Bedienungshinweise für Ihr Alarmsystem finden Sie in der
entsprechenden Bedienungsanleitung.
Registrierung, Programmierung und
Montageort
Der drahtlose 1-Wege Wassermelder muss auf der Alarmzentrale
registriert werden, bevor er Systemereignisse,
Überwachungssignale oder den örtlichen WS4985/WS8985
Status (z.B. Gehäuse und Wandsabotage, Batteriestatus und
Leitungsstatus) übertragen kann. Nachstehend erhalten Sie eine
Übersicht der allgemeinen Schritte zur Programmierung und
Registrierung des Geräts auf der PC9155 Alarmzentrale. Für
weitere Optionen oder andere Systeme siehe die
Installationsanleitung des spezifischen Empfängers oder
Sicherheitssystems.
Schritt 1- Registrierung
Der WS4985/WS8985 Wassermelder kann durch
Schnellregistrierung oder manuell mit der Seriennummer-
Programmierung registriert werden. Gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
Schnellregistrierung (1-7)
1. Geben Sie auf dem Systembedienfeld [*][8] [Installateurcode]
[898] ein.
2. Nehmen Sie den Wassermelder in die Nähe der Alarmzentrale.
3. Lösen Sie die Sabotage des WS4985/WS8985 durch Öffnen
des Sendergehäuses aus.
4. Das Bedienfeld zeigt die ESN (elektronische Seriennummer)
an. Drücken Sie [*] zur Bestätigung.
5. Wählen Sie die Zonennummer, welche das Gerät belegen soll.
6. Wählen Sie den Zonentyp, dem das Gerät folgen soll, 24
Stunden Wasser wird empfohlen.
HINWEIS: Die elektronische Seriennummer ist eine 6-stellige
alphanumerische Zeichenfolge, die Sie auf einem Aufkleber auf
dem Drahtlosgerät finden.
7. Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 2 bis 6 zur Registrierung weiterer
WS4985/ WS8985.
Seriennummer-Programmierung (1-6)

Schritt 2 - Zonendefinition programmieren
1. Rufen Sie Abschnitt [001] - [002] auf.
2. Ordnen Sie der Zone den entsprechenden Zonentyp ([19] 24
Stunden Wasser) zu.
HINWEIS: Alle Drahtlosgeräte müssen für gute Signalstärke an
ihrem Montageort getestet werden.
Schritt 3 - Standorttest
1. Rufen Sie Abschnitt [904] auf.
2. Zum Starten des Tests öffnen Sie das Sendergehäuse
(Abbildung 3) oder schließen Sie die Sonden des
Wassersensors mit einem Schraubendreher kurz.
HINWEIS: Wir empfehlen, den Standorttest des Wassermelders
mit angeschlossenem Wassersensor durchzuführen.
HINWEIS: Sie haben eine Verzögerung von 3 bis 5 Sekunden,
bis der Alarm vom Gerät übertragen wird.

Gerät montieren
Nach der Bestimmung eines ordnungsgemäßen Montageortes für
das Gerät, kann der WS4985/WS8985 permanent montiert
werden.

Wassersensor
Der Wassersensor muss so montiert
werden, dass
beide Sonden
des Geräts

mit Wasser in Berührung kommen, wenn ein
Alarmzustand gewünscht wird.

Der Wassersensor sollte an einem
niedrigen Punkt montiert werden, an dem sich das Wasser zuerst
sammelt (z.B.
Fußboden). Schrauben Sie den Wassersensor mit
den mitgelieferten Schrauben an. Sie haben Montagebohrungen
für Wand und Bodenmontage

(Abbildung 2). Schließen Sie das
Sensorkabel am Sender an, siehe Abschnitt Sender nachstehend.
HINWEIS: Vermeiden Sie die Montage der Senderkomponente
des Geräts hinter einem Metallgegenstand wie einer
Waschmaschine, einem Kühl- oder Gefrierschrank. RF-Signale
können durch Metallobjekte beeinträchtigt werden.
HINWEIS: Nach jeder Wassermeldung muss der Wassersensor
gereinigt und ausgetrocknet werden. Anderenfalls kann das
Gerät aufgrund der Natur der verschiedenen Flüssigkeiten nicht
erwartungsgemäß arbeiten.
HINWEIS: Nachdem Sie das Waser aus dem Sensor entfernt
haben, beträgt die Rückstellzeit für den Alarm ca. 1 Minute.
Sender
Nehmen Sie die Rückplatte des Senders ab (Abbildung 3).
• Mitgelieferte Schrauben benutzen: Montieren Sie die
Rückplatte mit den Schrauben.
• Doppelseitiges Klebeband benutzen: Achten Sie darauf,
den Sender auf einer sauberen und trockenen
gestrichenen oder vorgestrichenen Oberfläche zu
montieren. Ist die Oberfläche ungeeignet, so montieren
Sie den Sender mit den mitgelieferten Schrauben.
Die externen Anschlüsse dienen dem Anschluss des Sensorkabels
(Abbildung 4). Achten Sie darauf, dass die Kabel max. 6 mm
abisoliert sind und dass sie nicht die Komponenten berühren. Das
Sensorkabel kann auf Länge zugeschnitten werden. Benutzen Sie
Kabelschellen zur Wandbefestigung. Achten Sie darauf, dass es
durch die Verlegung des Sensorkabes nicht zu Unfällen kommen
kann.

Angeschlossene Kabel dürfen keinen mechanischen
Belastungen ausgesetzt sein. Nach der Montage des WS4985/
WS8985 testen Sie den Wassersensor auf Aktivierung im Fall
eines Alarmzutands.
Sabotagekontakt
Der WS4985/WS8985 Sender ist mit Sabotageüberwachung
ausgestattet. Wird das Sendergehäuse geöffnet, dann überträgt der
WS4985/WS8985 eine Zonensabotage an die Alarmzentrale. Für
zusätzliche Sicherheit ist der WS4985/WS8985 ebenfalls mit Wand-
Sabotageüberwachung konzipiert. Tauschen Sie den kurzen
Gummibetätiger (Abbildung 5) gegen den mitgelieferten längeren
aus. Mit dieser Option wird die Sabotage an die Alarmzentrale
übertragen, wenn das Gehäuse geöffnet oder der WS4985/WS8985
von seinem Montageort abgenommen wird. Wir empfehlen
dringend, Schrauben zur Montage zu benutzen, wenn die Wand-
Sabotage benutzt wird.
HINWEIS: Beim Durchtrennen des Sensorkabels überträgt der
WS4985/WS8985 eine Sabotage an die Alarmzentrale.
HINWEIS: Testen Sie das Gerät wenigstens einmal pro Jahr.
Batterie austauschen
Zum Austauschen der Batterie setzen Sie einen Flachschraubendreher
auf einer der Seiten des Geräts an und drehen Sie ihn vorsichtig, um
das Kunstoffober- und Unterteil voneinander zu trennen (Abbildung
3). Nun sehen Sie die Batterie (Abbildung 4). Nehmen Sie die
erschöpfte Batterie heraus und setzen Sie eine frische Batterie ein.
Achten Sie auf die Polarität.

Entsorgen Sie erschöpfte Batterien
umweltgerecht.
Vorsicht: Die in diesem Gerät benutzte Batterie kann bei falscher
Handhabung eine Feuer- oder Verätzungsgefahr darstellen. Nicht
aufladen, zerlegen, auf über 100

°C (212

°F) erhitzen oder
verbrennen. Batterie nur gegen eine Panasonic CR2 oder Duracell
CR2 3-Volt Lithiumbatterie austauschen. Die Benutzung anderer

von neuer HARDWARE begleitet, dürfen Sie das SOFTWAREPRODUKT
nicht benutzen, kopieren oder installieren. Das SOFTWAREPRODUKT umfasst
Computersoftware und kann zugehörige Medien, Druckmaterialien und „Online-
“ oder elektronische Dokumentation enthalten.
Jegliche Software, die zusammen mit dem SOFTWAREPRODUKT überlassen
wird, ist eine separate Endverbraucher- Lizenzvereinbarung zugeordnet, welche
für Sie entsprechend der Bedingungen der Lizenzvereinbarung lizenziert ist.
Durch Installation, Kopieren, Download, Speicherung, Zugriff oder sonstige
Nutzung des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS stimmen Sie diesen Lizenzbedingungen
uneingeschränkt zu, selbst wenn diese Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung eine
Modifizierung einer früheren Vereinbarung oder eines Vertrages ist. Stimmen
Sie den Bedingungen dieser Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung nicht zu, dann
ist DSC nicht gewillt, das SOFTWAREPRODUKT für Sie zu lizenzieren und
Sie haben kein Nutzungsrecht.
SOFTWAREPRODUKTLIZENZ
Das SOFTWAREPRODUKT ist durch Urheberrechte und internationale
Urheberrechtsvereinbarungen sowie durch Immaterialgüterrecht geschützt. Das
SOFTWAREPRODUKT wird lizenziert, nicht verkauft.
1.
GEWÄHRUNG EINER LIZENZ Diese Endverbraucher-Lizenzverein-
barung gewährt Ihnen folgende Rechte:
(a)
Software-Installation und Nutzung - Für jede von Ihnen erworbene Lizenz
dürfen Sie nur eine Kopie des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS installieren.
(b) Speicherung/Netzwerknutzung - Das SOFTWAREPRODUKT darf nicht
gleichzeitig auf verschiedenen Computern, einschließlich Workstation,
Terminal oder sonstigen elektronischen Geräten („Geräte“) installiert,
darauf zugegriffen, angezeigt, ablaufen gelassen oder gemeinsam genutzt
werden. Mit anderen Worten, falls Sie mehrere Workstations haben, müs-
sen Sie für jede Workstation, auf welcher die SOFTWARE benutzt wird,
eine eigene Lizenz erwerben.
(c)
Sicherungskopie - Sie dürfen Sicherungskopien-des SOFTWAREPRO-
DUKTS erstellen, Sie dürfen jedoch nur eine Kopie je Lizenz installiert
haben. Sie dürfen die Sicherungskopie- ausschließlich zur Archivierung
benutzen. Sie dürfen keine anderen Kopien des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS,
einschließlich der die SOFTWARE begleitenden Druckmaterialien,
erstellen, außer wie in dieser Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung aus-
drücklich zugelassen.
2.
BESCHREIBUNG WEITERER RECHTE UND EIN-
SCHRÄNKUNGEN
(a)
Einschränkungen zu Reverse Engineering, Dekompilierung und Disas-
semblierung - Reverse Engineering, Dekompilierung und Disas-
semblierung des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS sind nicht zulässig, außer und
nur soweit solche Aktivität ausdrücklich durch geltendes Recht,
unabhängig von diesen Einschränkungen, zugelassen ist. Sie dürfen die
Software ohne schriftliche Erlaubnis eines leitenden Angestellten von DSC
nicht verändern oder modifizieren. Sie dürfen keine Eigentumshinweise,
Markierungen oder Aufkleber vom Softwareprodukt entfernen. Sie müssen
auf angemessene Weise dafür sorgen, dass die Bedingungen dieser Endver-
braucher-Lizenzvereinbarung eingehalten werden.
(b) Trennung von Komponenten - Das SOFTWAREPRODUKT ist als Ein-
zelprodukt lizenziert. Seine Komponenten dürfen nicht zur Nutzung auf
mehr als einem HARDWARE-Gerät getrennt werden.
(c)
Einzelnes INTEGRIERTES PRODUKT - Haben Sie diese SOFTWARE
gemeinsam mit HARDWARE erworben, dann ist das SOFTWAREPRO-
DUKT gemeinsam mit der HARDWARE als einzelnes integriertes Pro-
dukt lizenziert. In diesem Fall darf das SOFTWAREPRODUKT nur mit
der HARDWARE benutzt werden, wie in dieser Endverbraucher-Lizenz-
vereinbarung ausgeführt.
(d) Miete - Sie dürfen das SOFTWAREPRODUKT nicht vermieten, leasen
oder ausleihen. Sie dürfen es anderen nicht zur Verfügung stellen oder es
auf einem Server oder einer Website einstellen.
(e)
Übertragung des Softwareprodukts - Sie dürfen all Ihre Rechte unter dieser
Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung nur als Teil eines permanenten Ver-
kaufs oder einer Übertragung der HARDWARE übertragen, vorausgesetzt,
dass Sie keine Kopien behalten, Sie das gesamte SOFTWAREPRODUKT
(einschließlich allen Komponenten, Medien und Druckmaterialien, allen
Aktualisierungen und dieser Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung) über-
tragen und unter der Voraussetzung, dass der Empfänger den Bedingungen
dieser Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung zustimmt. Ist das SOFTWA-
REPRODUKT eine Aktualisierung, so muss eine Übertragung auch alle
vorherigen Versionen des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS umfassen.
(f)
Kündigung - Ohne Beeinträchtigung anderer Rechte kann DSC diese End-
verbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung kündigen, wenn Sie die Bedingungen die-
ser Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung nicht einhalten. In diesem Fall
müssen Sie alle Kopien des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS und aller seiner
Komponenten zerstören.
(g) Marken - Diese Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung gewährt Ihnen keine
Rechte in Verbindung mit Marken oder Dienstleistungsmarken von DSC
oder seinen Zulieferern.
3.
COPYRIGHT - Alle Titel und Immaterialgüterrechte an und für das SOFT-
WAREPRODUKT (einschließlich, jedoch nicht hierauf beschränkt, Bilder,
Fotos und Texte im SOFTWAREPRODUKT), die begleitenden Druckma-
terialien und Kopien des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS sind das Eigentum von
DSC oder seinen Zulieferern. Sie dürfen die begleitenden Druckmaterialien
des SOFTWAREPRODUKTS nicht kopieren. Alle Titel und Immate-
rialgüterrechte an den Inhalten, auf die Sie durch das SOFTWAREPRO-
DUKT zugreifen können, sind das Eigentum der entsprechenden
Eigentümer der Inhalte und sind möglicherweise durch Urheberrecht oder
andere Immaterialgüterrechte und Vereinbarungen geschützt. Diese End-
verbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung gewährt Ihnen keine Rechte zur Benut-
zung dieser Inhalte. Alle Rechte, nicht ausdrücklich unter dieser
Endverbraucher-Lizenzvereinbarung gewährt, bleiben durch DSC und
seine Zulieferer vorbehalten.
4.
EXPORTBESCHRÄNKUNGEN - Sie stimmen zu, dieses SOFTWARE-
PRODUKT nicht an Länder, Personen oder Körperschaften zu exportieren
oder zu re-exportieren,- die kanadischen Exportbeschränkungen unterlie-
gen.
5.
RECHTSWAHL - Diese Software-Lizenzvereinbarung unterliegt den
Gesetzen der Provinz Ontario, Kanada.
6.
SCHLICHTUNG - Alle Streitigkeiten aus dieser Vereinbarung müssen
durch abschließende und bindende Schlichtung entprechend Arbitration
Act (Schlichtungsgesetz) beigelegt werden und die Parteien müssen sich
der Entscheidung des Schlichters unterwerfen. Ort der Schlichtung ist
Toronto, Kanada und die Schlichtungssprache ist Englisch.
7.
EINGESCHRÄNKTE GARANTIE
(a)
KEINE GARANTIE - DSC STELLT DIE SOFTWARE OHNE
MÄNGELGEWÄHR UND OHNE GARANTIEN ZUR VERFÜGUNG.
DSC GARANTIERT NICHT, DASS DIE SOFTWARE IHREN
ANFORDERUNGEN ENTSPRICHT ODER DASS DER BETRIEB DIE-
SER SOFTWARE UNUNTERBROCHEN ODER FEHLERFREI IST.
(b) ÄNDERUNGEN DER BETRIEBSUMGEBUNG - DSC ist nicht für Pro-
bleme verantwortlich, die durch Änderung der Betriebscharakteristiken der
HARDWARE oder für Probleme bei der Interaktion von SOFTWARE-
PRODUKTEN mit Nicht-DSC-SOFTWARE oder HARDWAREPRO-
DUKTEN hervorgerufen werden.
(c)
HAFTUNGSBESCHRÄNKUNG, GARANTIE REFLEKTIERT
RISIKOZUWEISUNG - IN JEDEM FALL, SOFERN EIN GESETZ
GARANTIEN ODER ZUSTÄNDE EINBEZIEHT, DIE IN DIESER
LIZENZVEREINBARUNG NICHT DARGESTELLT SIND,
BESCHRÄNKT SICH DSCs GESAMTE HAFTUNG UNTER
JEGLICHEN BESTIMMUNGEN DIESER LIZENZVEREINBARUNG
AUF DEN VON IHNEN BEZAHLTEN ANTEIL FÜR DIE LIZENZ
DIESES SOFTWAREPRODUKTS UND FÜNF KANADISCHE
DOLLAR (CAD 5,00). DA EINIGE GESETZGEBUNGEN DEN AUS-
SCHLUSS DER HAFTUNGSBEGRENZUNG FÜR BEILÄUFIGE
ODER FOLGESCHÄDEN NICHT ZULASSEN, TRIFFT DIE OBIGE
BESCHRÄNKUNG FÜR SIE MÖGLICHERWEISE NICHT ZU.
