INSTALLATION AND SETUP GUIDE
GENERAL INFORMATION
The 5828DM Desk Mount Kit allows the end user to place the 5828 or 5828V wireless keypad in a convenient location such as on a bedside table. The keypad can be powered by battery or by AC using the AC Adapter. The keypad is shipped with a wall-mounting plate that is not required if using the Desk Mount Kit. The Desk Mount contains four rubber feet to prevent slipping or scratching of sensitive surfaces.

Dressing the Wire Breakout If you want the AC Adapter wires to exit from the left, right, or bottom of the keypad when the keypad is mounted, refer to Figure 1. Note that the AC Adaptor connector is inserted into the mating keypad connector input before attaching to the Desk Mount. Dress the wires in the desired direction in the slots provided. Installing the keypad on the Desk Mount If you want the AC Adaptor wires to exit left, right, or back of the Desk Mount, attach the keypad to the Desk Mount first. (Attach the keypad to the Desk Mount by positioning the keypad over the Desk Mount and slide down, engaging the four retaining clips on the Desk Mount with the four mating receptacles on the keypad as shown in Figure 2.)

After the keypad is attached to the Desk Mount, insert the AC Adaptor connector into the keypad’s mating connector through the rectangular hole in the Desk Mount, as shown in Figure 3 below. With the connection made, the wires can then be dressed to exit the Mount from the left, right, or back cutouts. Note that there are wire strain-relief tie points at each exit cutout in the Mount. Use tie-wraps to secure wires.
