Dear Valued Customers:
We want to inform you of a new process that will go
into effect when a new LTEM-P Series/LTEM-PI Serie
s
communicator is first registered. Upon registration
, if the communicator is not using the latest firmw
are
version, it will automatically begin an Over-the-Ai
r (OTA) update process to the latest firmware versi
on.
The communicator will update over Ethernet or Wi-Fi
if available, otherwise the process will use cellu
lar to
perform the update. This process typically complete
s in 5 minutes, which may take longer on the cellul
ar
connection, depending on signal strength.
The following LED status indications light during t
he two-stage process:
1. Downloading the Firmware: Reg, Status and Fault
fast blink in unison.
2. Upon new firmware loaded, the device resets: All
Five LEDs Reg, Status, Fault, Cell and WI-FI
/Ethernet fast blink in sequence.
The OTA (over-the-air) communicator module software
update generates the following messages at the
start and end of the firmware update:

E903 - Application Code Update (Remote Firmware Do
wnload Begin
•
R903 - Application Code Update Restore (Remote Fir
mware Download Finished)
•
E904 - Application Code Update Failure (Communicat
or Code Update Failed) – normal indication for
this type of update
