Combination Smoke/
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
December

Dear Valued Customer,
Resideo is aware of a
possible
premature low battery indication
after replacing batteries in
the
5800COMBO
, SiXCOMBO,
and
PROS
iXCOMBO
Combination Smoke/Carbon
Monoxide (CO) Detectors
that have been in use for many years
. We have determined that
when
the batteries
are being
replaced,
installing
the new batteries
can produce a
false low
battery
condition. This
condition is caused by
intermittent connectivity between the batteries
and the
nickel
contacts
in the battery holder
. If you encounter a
detector
with a premature
low battery condition
, please verify the following instructions to remedy the condition.
Premature Low Battery
Condition
: Detector is
indicating/transmitting a Low Battery
condition; howe
ver, e
ach battery reads over 3VDC on a meter
.
•
Confirm the battery is fully seated in the holder and secure in place.
•
Confirm the
battery
contacts are snug against the batteries with no movement.
•
Clean t
he battery and the battery contacts with either alcohol or a mildly abrasive
cloth.
•
Reinstall the batteries and check if the low battery indication still appears.
•
If the low battery indication remains, replace the batteries with new ones.
