Alarm.com ADC-S40-T

The Alarm.com ADC-S40-T allows you to monitor the temperature in any room with precision while also monitoring humidity levels. It works with Alarm.com Smart Thermostats. The temperature and humidity readings can be accessed remotely through Alarm.com, allowing for manual as well as automatic control of the thermostat. The ADC-S40-T also has the Z-Wave SmartStart enrollment feature for quick and easy Z-Wave inclusion.

The ADC-S40-T literature says it works with Alarm.com Smart Thermostats, so we assume this means it can work with the older ADC-T2000, and ADC-T3000 (discontinued), along with the newest ADC-T40K-HD. When used with a smart thermostat, the ADC-S40-T can provide precise temperature and humidity condition information back to the smart thermostat, which can then allow the thermostat to control the HVAC system according to your automation settings. By having temperature and humidity information from diverse locations, the ADC-S40-T can help you prevent hot or cold spots within your home or business.

The ADC-S40-T works nearly exactly like the older Alarm.com Z-Wave temperature sensors. However, it is smaller, sleeker, and offers the added benefit of allowing you to monitor humidity levels in addition to temperature. When coupled with an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat and an HVAC system with humidity control features, this will provide an added layer to your ability to keep your home or business environment comfortable.

If you have an Alarm.com alarm system, but don't have an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat, you can still use the ADC-S40-T as a temperature sensor. Although it won't allow you to automate climate control in your building when used in this way, you will still be able to log into Alarm.com, check the temperature, and use this information to make choices about how you want to manually set your thermostat. Up to ten (10) temperature sensors can be used per system.
