Alarm.com XT-510-US-DP-AT
AT&T LTE and Ethernet Dual-Path Communicator for Interlogix Simon Panels
Description
The Alarm.com XT-510-US-DP-AT is a dual-path communicator that supports a wired ethernet connection and has an AT&T LTE Cellular Communicator built-in. In addition, it also boasts a Z-Wave Plus Home Automation Controller. With this module installed, any Interlogix Simon Panel can connect to Alarm.com and utilize its full suite of automation features.
With the Alarm.com XT-510-US-DP-AT, as with all Alarm.com dual-path communicators, the LTE cellular portion of the communicator must be used and the ethernet portion is optional. With most homes and businesses having an internet connection available, though, it makes sense to take advantage of the existing connection. Unlike with some other services, Alarm.com dual-path communicators send all alarm signals using any available path. The signal that reaches Alarm.com first is accepted and processed, the "losing" signal is discarded. In this way, Alarm.com always ensures that the fastest available transmission path is always used for each individual signal. For those who may be in an area with better Verizon LTE signal, we also offer the Alarm.com XT-510-US-DP-VZ Dual-Path Verizon LTE and Ethernet Communicator.
The AT&T LTE network will be around for years to come. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, and cellular providers have indicated that they plan to support these networks for at least ten (10) years. LTE provides a stable and robust connection, and cellular communication in general is very reliable, with plenty of power and signaling redundancies. LTE communicators are the fastest yet for use with alarm systems, and they allow users to take advantage of an ever increasing smorgasbord of remote control and automation features.
If AT&T is the backbone of this communicator, then Alarm.com is the brain. In addition to providing the servers used to transport alarm signals from the communicator to a central monitoring station, when full-service monitoring is being used. Alarm.com also provides the means to remotely check system status, arm and disarm, and control automation devices that are associated with the system. The XT-510-US-DP-AT includes a Z-Wave Plus Home Automation Controller. This allows you to pair Z-Wave and Z-Wave Plus devices such as Lights, Locks, and Thermostats with the account. Then, these devices can be added to Rules and Scenes to activate or adjust automatically, and can also be controlled manually through the Alarm.com app or webpage from anywhere that an internet connection is available.
Alarm Grid customers will need either a Cellular Alarm Monitoring plan, which includes only cellular central station monitoring, with no remote control or automation features, or a Gold or Platinum plan (Self or Full) in order to use the remote features, with or without central station monitoring. The Platinum plans include all the features of a Gold plan with the addition of video monitoring with Alarm.com's impressive lineup of residential and commercial cameras. The Alarm.com XT-510-US-DP-AT gives you everything you need to supercharge your Interlogix Simon Panel and fully unlock all its potential.
