The DSC SCW-BATTERYHC is a 24-hour backup battery for the DSC Impassa, an All-In-One alarm system. If your DSC Impassa already contains a 24-hr battery, then this is the replacement you need. It's 3600mAh rating has the capability to keep your system powered for up to 24 hrs, if you lose AC power.

In most cases, the DSC Impassa battery will need to be replaced every 3 - 4 years. When it detects an issue with the battery not holding a proper charge, it will indicate a battery trouble condition on the Impassa. The panel will display a small orange triangle light. By pressing *2, a user can see that a low battery warning is present. At that time, it may be time to replace your backup battery. If your Impassa currently has a smaller sized battery, then you should purchase a 4-hr backup battery.

A backup battery is important because it allows your DSC Impassa to still send alarm signals when AC power is lost. If power is out for an extended amount of time, your backup battery can take up to 48 hrs after power is restored to fully charge.
