GRI MM-400

The GRI Mighty Mag MM-400 is a rare Earth magnet that measures 3/8" in diameter and 1/8" long. It is used with a 3/8" diameter recessed door window contact. The magnet should be installed in the moving par of the door or window and aligned with the sensor. Test the magnet after installing.

Rare Earth magnets like the MM-400 are great for use with contacts due to their impressive strength. This helps ensure that the recessed sensor knows when the door or window is closed. The sensor has a reed switch that should remain closed when the magnet is nearby. Opening the door or window will result in the magnet being separated from the sensor. This will release the reed switch inside the sensor. The sensor will respond by alerting the panel to the open door or window.

Ideally, the GRI MM-400 should be used with a recessed door or window contact that measures 3/8" in diameter. The short 1/8" design makes the magnet great for use in windows when space is limited. Remember that the sensor and magnet must be aligned for the installation to be successful. You should remember to test after installing.
