Description

The Honeywell Home 300-11260 ProSeries Power Adapter can accept 90 - 264VAC 50 Hz or 60 Hz input, and provides a 9VDC 2.5Amp output. This is a 22.5W Class II DC power adapter. This DC adapter comes standard with the Honeywell Home and Resideo ProSeries panels, and can also be used on the Honeywell Home LTEM-PA AT&T LTE Dual-Path Communicator, and the Honeywell Home LTEM-PV Verizon LTE Dual-Path Communicator.

The ProSeries panels include the Honeywell Home PROA7 and Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS and the Resideo PROA7C and Resideo PROA7PLUSC. The only difference between these two product lines is in their branding. The Honeywell Home products have the Honeywell Home Logo on the front, and the Resideo products have the Resideo logo on the front. In functionality, they are exactly alike (PROA7 and PROA7C are alike, and PROA7PLUS and PROA7PLUSC are alike). To read more about this branding, check out this post.

The Honeywell 300-04705V1 9VDC Power Adapter has the same specifications as the Honeywell Home 300-11260. This is the transformer that comes with the LynxTouch and Lyric panels, as well as the LTEM-PA and LTEM-PV Dual-Path Communicators. The primary difference between these two transformers is their size. The 300-11260 is more slim and rectangular where the 300-04705V1 is more square

The Honeywell Home 300-11260 DC Power Adapter is a two (2) prong unit. It has a flange at the top, with a hole for a screw, and the securing screw is included. This can be used to secure the transformer to the outlet to prevent accidental or intentional unplugging. To secure the power adapter in place, the screw holding the outlet cover is removed, the 300-11260 is plugged into the bottom outlet, and the included screw is then screwed in place of the outlet cover screw. This will hold both the power adapter and the outlet cover in place. Be sure to use the screw that comes with the 300-11260, as it will be long enough to secure both the adapter and the outlet cover.

The ProSeries panels will not come with wire to connect the panel to the DC Power Adapter. Some kits offered by Alarm Grid will come with a Honeywell LT-Cable that can be used for this purpose. The LT-Cable is eight (8) feet (2.4m) in length. If you will need a wire run that is longer than this, you will need to cut and prepare the wire yourself. As this is a DC output, be sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the wires at both ends. Also, be aware that there are very specific wire length limits based on the gauge wire being used.

The following are the wire length limits, based on wire gauge, for the Honeywell Home and Resideo ProSeries panels:

Maximum Wire Length Wire Gauge (AWG)
Up to 25 feet (7.62m) #22
Up to 45 feet (13.72m) #20
Up to 70 feet (21.34m) #18
Up to 110 feet (33.53m) #16

Whereas the LT-Cable comes already prepared with spade lugs for the connection at the 300-11260 end, and pre-stripped wire or a barrel connector for the end that connects to the ProSeries panel or other device, you will need to strip the wire yourself in a custom length wire run. The LT-Cable has one Red wire conductor and one Black wire conductor. This helps the installer keep track of proper polarity with the Red wire customarily being used for Positive (+) and the Black wire customarily being used for Negative (-). If you don't have a two-conductor wire in Black and Red any color can be used as long as you connect Positive at the power adapter end to Positive at the panel end, and Negative to Negative at both ends.

To prepare your wire, strip about 1/4" (.6cm) of the insulating material from each end of the custom-length two-conductor wire. When attaching the wire at each end, be sure that each wire end is tightly connected to the appropriate screw and that no excess copper wire is exposed. Again, this is a DC power output so make sure to observe proper polarity at both ends of the wire run. Failure to do so may damage both the panel and the power adapter. Damage to either device will require replacement.
