Resideo IS3050V

The Resideo IS3050V is a hardwired passive infrared (PIR) motion detector. It offers a coverage area of 53' X 72' (16m X 22m) with a 90° detection pattern. It has a normally closed alarm output, with a separate tamper circuit that is also normally closed. The tamper circuit trips when the cover is removed and there is an optional wall tamper option available.

The Resideo IS3050V is not a pet-friendly motion, even though the lookdown zone can be disabled on the unit with a rotary dial. When the dial is set to ON, the lookdown zone is active. This allows you to mount the IS3050V over a door and capture motion caused by anyone walking through the door. If the motion will be mounted above an HVAC source of air or heat, then the lookdown zone should be set to OFF to avoid accidental activation.

Another special feature of the IS3050V is the flashlight feature. This feature allows the user to put the motion into Walk Test Mode locally (the alarm system is still in normal mode when the motion is put into test in this way). With the flashlight feature, the user doesn't have to climb up to access the motion or remove the cover. The Resideo IS3050V uses a fresnel lens in conjunction with the pyroelectric sensor in order to detect motion within its field of view. It requires at least four (4) wires, two for power, and two for the alarm circuit. If you choose to use the tamper circuit, another pair of wires may be needed, depending on how you choose to wire that circuit. Each IS3050V has an energized Form A, SPST, solid state relay with 22 Ohms of protective resistance. If you plan to wire multiple IS3050V motion detectors on an individual wire run, be mindful of this and how it may change the zone resistance.
