Arming/Disarming Lyric Alarm System from Phone, Tablet, or iPad

hey di wires I'm George at alarm grid today we're going to be going over arming and disarming your lyric controller from your phone so there are two methods of doing this the first method is using the my home controller app which is actually a free app that you can download in your Play Store or App Store depending whether or not you have Android or Apple the second way is by using total connects now Total Connect is actually created for you by your monitoring companies so you do need to have the panel monitored in order to have Total Connect so the first one I'm actually going to be doing it from my iPad but the the screens and the layouts and everything is the same it's just on the iPad it's gonna flip it to a horizontal view so I'm gonna go ahead and open up the my home controller app it's a blue icon with a white shield now it's gonna give me a list of steps since mine failed before I'm gonna do try again and it's gonna say connecting to Wi-Fi network and it gives me a list of steps to do so if I start off on the main screen it says select security I go to the next step I'm gonna go ahead and do select tools it's gonna tell me enter in my master code the panel is defaulted at one-two-three-four so I'm gonna go one two three four it then asks me to hit keypad I'm gonna go to keypad and then it's you didn't see it because it did a pretty quick but it recognizes the Mac since they're both on the same Wi-Fi networks now this app here the my home controller app it acts as an emulator to the lyric so it basically says the same it has the same screen now one thing that I do want you guys to keep in mind with this my home controller app it only works when it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network so it only works when you're within range of the same network that the actual lyric controller is on so if you leave the house and you're trying to control it from work using the app you're probably not connected to the same Wi-Fi network so that won't work that you would need Total Connect which is the remote way of doing it now just to go back to this here to my home controller app it acts as an emulator you can arm it arm away I'm gonna go ahead enter in 1 2 3 4 you can see it arms it like I said my panels defaulted so I have this set to that I can disarm it 1 2 3 4 and boom its goal is back into ready to arm shows that the one thing that you cannot do on this app is programming yeah so the programming needs to be done through the main panel this is just an emulator now I'm gonna go ahead and close out of this op so yes I go to the home screen and I'm going to open up total connects now it's gonna automatically sign in obviously it's gonna ask you for your username and password now Total Connect again you can arm away it doesn't ask you for your code because it's already associated to the profile that you signed in with and it'll say arming away yeah you can disarm it now total connects Total Connect is the app that you would use if let's say you wanted to control your system remotely and again remember Total Connect is only given to a user by the monitoring company so that's something you want you can definitely contact us as we have a lot of plans that include the Total Connect application in it so those are the two methods we have the my home controller app the Total Connect my home controller works locally only and it needs to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network Total Connect is the remote interactive services which you can use anywhere in the world as long as you have connection to the Internet and you can log in to your account and that was just a quick way showing you how to arm and disarm if you guys do have any more questions you can always email us at support at alarm calm if you found the video helpful make sure you hit like subscribe to the YouTube channel and enable notifications so whenever we upload new content you guys do get notified again everyone my name was george i'll see you guys next time thank you
