Gun Locks
Gun locks represent an important investment for any firearm owner. These devices are installed around a gun's trigger, and they can only be removed if the user knows a code to remove the lock. These devices are perfect for end users who want to ensure that their weapons are safe and protected at all times. Even if someone manages to access the gun, they will not be able to use it unless they remove the lock. These locks are extremely tough, and they are built to take abuse. An intruder won't be able to make good use of the gun without removing the lock, making these devices great purchases. These locks can fit most types of guns, and they are extremely versatile devices in general.
Many families purchase gun locks to prevent their children from getting into their weapons. Firearm accidents are surprisingly common, and many children are injured or killed due to accidental gun shots. A gun lock will prevent this from happening. Your child will not be able to get the lock off, and they won't be able to fire the weapon as a result. Additionally, if your child does get into your gun, moving it around will cause the gun lock to activate. Remember, these locks alert the system whenever they are moved. You will then receive a trouble condition on your security system that will let you know that someone was tampering with your personal weapons.
A gun lock is installed directly on the trigger for a firearm. As such, these devices need to communicate with alarm systems wirelessly. You will need to make sure that any gun lock you use communicates at a wireless frequency that is compatible with your alarm panel if you want to receive system alerts regarding any activity. However, you can technically use a gun lock without programming it. The device will still prevent anyone from using the weapon unless they know the specific unlock code. That said, you will only be able to receive system alerts by programming the device with your panel.
Gun locks are particularly useful when paired with an interactive service platform like Total Connect 2.0 or Alarm.com. This way, you can receive remote alerts through text and/or email whenever your gun lock is activated. This is perfect if someone gets into your weapons while you are away from home. In order to do this, you will need alarm monitoring service that includes access to one of these platforms. Alarm Grid offers these monitoring plans. Just click the orange Alarm Monitoring button at the top of this page for more information.
Since protecting your weapons is very important, gun locks are designed to be extremely durable and not prone to easy destruction. An intruder may try to use powerful tools or equipment to destroy the gun lock. This will not be possible with the gun locks sold by Alarm Grid. In fact, these devices cannot normally be destroyed without destroying the weapon itself. The only way to get the lock off and use the gun is to know the proper code. And if an intruder lifts the weapon, the gun lock will alert the system before they even have a chance to determine the code.
