Read these instructions and warnings for the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector, your firearm
and your alarm system before installing or operating the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector.
Failure to do so, and/or to follow the instructions and warnings, could result in serious
injury, property damage and/or death.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The 2GIG Gun Motion Detector (2GIG‐GNGRD1‐345) is designed for use with certain
hand guns and rifles. It communicates with the control panel using the 345 MHz
frequency. When properly installed, and the gun is moved, signals are transmitted to
the control panel. See
Working With Your GoControl Panel
, next page, for expected
behavior.

Verify that the package includes the following:

Testing the Gun Motion Detector
Make sure the firearm is NOT loaded. After placing the Gun Motion Detector on a
compatible firearm, perform a motion test by simply picking it up to verify that it can
establish good Radio Frequency (RF) communications with the control panel.
Gun Motion Detector Operation
Instruction for use:

To open lock, set dials to combination
numbers (combination is always preset to
0-0-0 by factory).

With dials set to combination, move release
lever to up position.

Pull apart the two sides of the lock.

To close the lock, move release lever back
down to locked position and scramble
combination dials. Depending on your gun,
insert the front lock unit with ratchet post
through the trigger guard, behind trigger if
possible. Then insert rear unit.
Reset your personal combination:

Open the lock by pulling apart the two sides of the lock and completely remove
the detector from the gun.

Push the lever into the down position.
WARNING!
DO NOT USE THIS DETECTOR ON A LOADED GUN.
•
Never install the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector on a loaded firearm.
Doing so could cause an accidental discharge causing serious
injury, property damage or death.
•
Store firearms and ammunition separately and securely. Keep
firearms and ammunition out of the reach of children.
•
Never use a broken or damaged 2GIG Gun Motion Detector.
IMPORTANT!
This product will not lock all firearms. It will block access
to many guns when properly attached. Some lever action rifles, firearms without
trigger guards surrounding the triggers, guns with extra light or extra wide triggers or
guns with trigger shoes or extensions may not be able to be effectively locked with
this Gun Motion Detector. The 2GIG Gun Motion Detector may be cut or defeated by a
determined individual and may not prevent the use of a firearm.
DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION ON DAMAGES/REMEDIES
Nortek shall not be responsible, in any manner whatsoever for any injuries, damages
or death due to the failure or malfunction of the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector, or if
applicable, the linked alarm and/or discharge of a firearm. This includes any and all
liability in any way related to criminal conduct or the failure of the alarm to detect
movement of the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector and the firearm. You, not Nortek or
this device, are solely responsible for the accidental or intentional discharge of your
firearm.
Under no circumstances will Nortek be responsible for incidental or consequential
damages. Depending on the state in which you reside, different remedies may be
available to you.

Inserting and Replacing the Batteries
To insert or replace the battery:

Remove from your firearm if the Detector is attached.

Remove the battery cover.

Carefully lift up on the front of the battery and pull straight out.
IMPORTANT:
Always dispose and/or recycle used batteries in accordance with the
hazardous waste recovery and recycling regulations for your location. Your city, state,
or country may also require you to comply with additional handling, recycling, and
disposal requirements.

Insert the replacement battery. The plus (+) sign of the battery should be facing
up and the minus (‐) side facing down.

Replace the battery cover.
WARNING:
Failure to follow these warnings and instructions can lead to heat
generation, rupture, leakage, explosion, fire, or other injury, or damage. Do not insert
the battery into the compartment in the wrong direction. Always replace the battery
with the same or equivalent type (see
Specifications
, right). Never recharge or
disassemble the battery. Never place the battery in fire or water. Always keep batteries
away from small children. If batteries are swallowed, promptly see a doctor.

based on the programming of the GoControl panel.

Storing The 2GIG Gun Motion Detector
The 2GIG-GNGRD-345 will periodically transmit a status signal to the 2GIG Control
Panel. If this device is placed in a safe or locked box the radio transmission may
be impeded. Ask your security dealer about adding a repeater to ensure effective
communications between the devices.
Check with your Alarm Monitoring Company on how to set up push notifications to your smartphone.

With dials set to the current combination, use a pen point or similar narrow object,
press the
Reset Button
on the left side of the lock in toward the center of the
lock.

Continue to apply pressure to the reset button, and set the dials to your
personalized combination.

This Nortek Security & Control LLC product is warranted against defects in material
and workmanship for two (2) years.
This limited warranty extends only to wholesale
customers who buy direct from Nortek Security & Control LLC or through Nortek
Security & Control normal distribution channels. Nortek Security & Control does not
warrant this product to consumers. Consumers should inquire from their selling
dealer as to the nature of the dealer’s warranty, if any. NSC reserves the right to
update, change or replace any part of the terms listed herein by posting updates and/

consequential damages arising out of or in connection with use or performance of this
