iBus Isolator

INSTALLATION AND SETUP GUIDE

GENERAL INFORMATION

CONNECTIONS (Continued)
The
VISTA
HISO Module separates fire keypads and other devices
from burglary devices on the iBus data circuit. Isolation between
fire and burglary devices is required in a Residential Fire Listed
system. The module is designed to isolate data wir
e and power
(+/
-) shorts or grounds that occur on the burglary side of
the
iBus
circuit from interfering with communications to Fire devices
connected to the iBus.

NOTE:
This module must be installed in accordance with National
Fire alarm and Signal Code ANSI/NFPA 72, Chapter 29.

The iBus Isolator and Control Panel must be wired so that the
Control Panel iBus terminals connect to the harness from the
VISTA
HISO.
Additionally, the Control Panel
's iBus Terminals also
connect to all Fire
Devices
[1]
following the instructions that are
supplied with the devices.
The
output
on the iBus Isolator is then
used to connect to all Burglary Devices
[2]
. Wiring in this manner
isolates the Fire Devices from the Burglary Devices in case of a
short on the Burglary circuit. To connect the
iBus
Isolator, reference
the following illustration and make these connections:

Agency Note:

All power
-limited circuit wiring must remain at least 0.25” (6.35
mm) away from any non
-power
-limited circuit wiring and non
-
power-
limited circuit wiring must enter and exit the cabinet
through a different knockout and/or conduits.

Input & Output CLASS B.

INSTALLATION

The module is designed to be mounted in the control cabinet.
Below the
Control Panel PCB
and to the left of the battery.

NOTE:
Only one (1)
VISTA
HISO can be installed.

IMPORTANT:

Damage to product can occur if incorrectly wired. See summary of
connections for proper wiring.

MOUNTING

Mount using the 2 screws (provided) as shown below:

CONNECTIONS

NOTES:

Connect iBus Burglary Devices, following the directions that
come with these devices,
except
make the connections to iBus
Isolator.

If using a supplementary power supply for burglary or fire
devices, connect the ground from the power supply to the burg
ground on the iBus Isolator, or the control panel ground,
respectively.

Connect to the control’s iBus terminals via
t
he input side of the
module using the supplied harness (P/N R600
-00547)[1]. The
output (isolated Burglar) side [2] is wired as
