Temp -40º F to 150º F 100% RH (-40º C to 66º C) (UL rated at 85% RH)

What type of outdoor rating does the product have?

The weather-proof and water-resistant 5816OD has passed NEMA 4X water protection. NEMA 4X Rating: Intended for indoor or outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose directed water and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. Range is dependent upon of the type of construction and number of walls that the signal must pass through. We anticipate over 200 foot range in a typical installation. If additional range is needed, a repeater (5800RP) can be added.

What is the wireless range of the product?

What is the gap of the product?

1.75" on wood, vinyl and non-metallic surfaces and 1.25" on steel.

What is the anticipated battery life?

Battery life is based upon the number of transmissions per day. On a typical installation we anticipate approximately five years with lithium batteries.

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes, the device will indicate when it has a low battery condition. Replace with two Energizer® E2 AA lithium batteries.

Do outside weather conditions affect range?

No.

Can the device be painted?

Yes, however we recommend using specific paint designed for plastic surfaces. Krylon® “Fusion for Plastic”, Rust-Oleum® “Plastic” or Dupli-Color® “Vinyl and Fabric Coating”. Yes. In the case of a metal shed, the device should be mounted on the outside of the shed to prevent loss of range.

Can the device be mounted on steel?
