Partitioning the 5828/V
keypads
on Low Plus
Panels
The 20P family of panels
will only
send P
artition 1
status out on the House ID in *24,
Partition 2 and 3 are not sent. If you have a 5828 keypad on Partition 2
you must add an RF
keypad to
Partition 2
to
send status
. The internal TM module of this keypad will send the
assigned P
artition 2 status to the 5828/V keypad. A few suggestions for setup are shown
below.
(‘RF Keypads’ refers to
6150RF, 6152RF, FA260RF, FA270RF, 6160RF, FA570RF
, 6162RF
, etc)
61
60RF,
FA570RF
, and 6162RF
will not work in some situations below. See notes***

5828/V
on
Partition 2
with an E
xisting
R eceiver
on Partition 1.
*
- Field *24 in the panel is not used for P2 because the 5828 will send and
receive on the
local House ID in the RF keypad on partition 2.
**
- The RF keypad on partition 1 (if used)
should
have its receiver enabled to receive
signals from any
other
wireless transmitters
on the system.
**
* The
6160RF and FA570RF keypa
ds can
’t be used in P2 in this scenario because they will not
receive in the local mode. For simplicity use a 6150RF/6152RF/6162RF instead.
If you have to use a 6160RF/FA570RF here you can
program the House ID in *24 for P2, and
then the existing receiver on P1will receive the 5828 signals and the 6160RF/FA570R
F will send
the P2 status on it
s local House ID.
****This 5828 can send
and receive
signals via the House ID of the RF keypad in the Local
Mode.
The receiver must be disabled in the RF keypad on Partition 2 since there is an
existing receiver
on P1
and the panel can only
communicate with
one receiver.
The House
ID in the RF keypad
on P2
must be programmed as local and should matc
h the House ID
programmed in
the
5828 on P2
. The local House ID in the keypad allows that keypad to
send its partitioned status to the 5828.

- The House ID in keypad must be for “L

send partition 2 status to the 5828. The receiver must be enabled in the
RF keypad
so it
will receive signals from
all other wireless transmitters in partition 1

Neither th

will work in this application
if there are
other

in those RF keypads there
is no
Local
House ID reference for partition 2
, therefore
it will not give out status on Partition 2 House

. If there are NO
other wireless devices except the 5828, then the 6162RF can be used
here (Loca
l House ID Mode, receiver disabled), but not the
6160RF or

- Field *24 in panel House ID must be programmed if using bi-

The RF keypad
on
partition 1
should be programmed to use the panel House ID, and must have its
receiver
enabled if other wireless devices are used.

This 5828 can send
and receive
signals via the House ID of the RF keypad in the Local
Mode.
The receiver must be disabled in the RF keypad on Partition 2 since there is an
existing receiver
on P1
and the panel can only
support
one receiver.
The House
ID in the RF
keypad
on P2
must be programmed as local and should match the House ID
programmed in
the
5828 on P2. The local House ID in the keypad allows that keypad to send its partitioned
status to the 5828. Keep in mind that partition 2 House ID must be different from partition
1 House ID
***
If the
6160RF or FA570RF keypads is used here the House ID for P2 must be programmed in
*24 so the existing receiver on P1 will receive the 5828 signals. (The 6160RF and FA570RF do
not receive when in Local mode, they only transmit.)
