TX+
2WAYFOB Wireless Keyfob

Installation Instructions
PLEASE SEE REVERSE SIDE FOR IMPORTANT PRODUCT
WARNINGS AND DISCLAIMER INFORMATION.

Description

The TX
+2WAYFOB

is
a
n unsupervised

wireless keyfob
device
that when within
operational
range of an Interlogix control panel or receiver, can remotely arm,
disarm, and perform other functions specific to the system.

The TX
+2WAYFOB

features the TX+ Encryption protocol which provides encrypted
wireless communication to select Interlogix contr
ol panels
, as well as 2
-
way
communication functionality providing acknowledgement at the device via the tri
-
color LED that transmissions sent have been received by the panel
. Please refer to
your panel’s installation instructions to see if it is TX+ Encryp
ted capable.

The TX+2WAYFOB

also utilizes the standard ITI
-
319 protocol which is compatible
with all Interlogix control panels and receivers.
When enrolled into a panel and
operating in the standard ITI
-
319 mode, the device functions in 1
-
way mode only
and
does not receive acknowledgement signals back from the panel.

Enrollment

Into TX+ Encryption Supported Panels

To enroll the
TX
+2WAYFOB as an encrypted keyfob

into
a panel that supports the
TX+ Encryption protocol
,
follow these
steps:

1)

Place the panel into program mode, then go to Learn Sensors menu.
Refer to your specific alarm panel manual for details on these menus
.

2)

Once the Learn Sensors mode has been activated
, press
and hold
both
the
STAR

and
LOCK

buttons together for 5 s
econds
.

The LED
will blink red one time upon transmission, followed by an alternating RED
and GREEN blinks (6 times total) for successful acknowledgement of
enrollment into the panel.

3)

If the panel does not respond
after complet
ing step 2,
repeat as
necessary until the device is successfully enrolled into the panel.

Note: Utilization of the TX+ Encrypted protocol is only compatible with select
Interlogix control panels. When enrolled into a panel that is TX+ Encrypted
capable, the enrollment

menu screen may indicate “TX+ Encrypted” to verify
that the sensor is communicating to the panel via the encrypted protocol.
Please refer to your panel’s installation instructions to verify that the panel
supports TX+ Encrypted capability.

If the keyfob is unintentionally enrolled
into a TX+ Encryption supported panel in the
standard ITI
-
319 protocol mode, the device will need to be removed from the panel,
and the keyfob Reset/Restore function

will need to be performed before attempting
to r
e
-
enroll in the TX+ Encryption mode. The Reset/Restore function is performed by
pressing and holding the UNLOCK and LIGHT buttons together for 5 seconds.

The LED will remain illuminated green for 3 seconds following the successful
reset/restoral
.

Enrollment
into

Non TX+ Encryption Sup
ported Panels (ITI
-
319 Protocol, one
-
way mode only)

To enroll the TX
+2WAYFOB

into a panel
utilizing the standard ITI
-
319 protocol,
follow these steps:

1)

Place the panel into program mode, then go to Learn Sensors menu.
Refer to your specific alarm panel manual for details on these menus.

2)

Once the Learn Sensors mode has been activated,
press
and hold both
the
LOCK
and
UNLOCK

buttons together for 5 second
s
.

The LED will blink red one time upon transmission.

Then select the
appropriate sensor group and number

on the panel
. Refer to your specific
alarm panel manual for details on the different sensor groups.

3)

If the panel does not
respond

after completing step 2
,

repeat as
necessary.

Note: When the TX+2WAYFOB is enrolled into a panel utilizing the standard ITI
-
319
protocol, the 2
-
way communication functionality is not available and it will operate as
a standard 1
-
way device.

Trouble Conditions in TX+ Encrypted Mode

After the TX+2WAYFOB is enrolled into an Interlogix panel/receiver that supports the
TX+

Encrypted protocol, and the device is communicating via the TX+ Encrypted
protocol, the following chart indicates the different trouble conditions that can occur,
identified by the following LED responses on the keyfob:

Refer back to the panel to understand
what trouble condition exists

When any button
press or sequence

is initiated

YELLOW LED

stays on for 3 seconds

No acknowledgement received from the
panel
. When this occurs, two conditions
may exist:

1) the panel has received
the keyfob
transmission and has entered into the
desired state, but the keyfob is too far o
ut
of range to receive the acknowledgement
messages back from the panel.

2) the keyfob is too far out of wireless
range and the panel did NOT receive the
keyfob transmission, resulting in no state
change at the panel

Operation in ITI
-
319 Mode

When the TX+2WAYFOB is enrolled into an Interlogix panel/receiver

and the device
is communicating via the
ITI
-
319

protocol, the following chart indicates the different
transmissions possible, along with their cor
responding LED acknowledgements.
Please refer to your panel’s installation instructions for further detail on

which keyfob
functions may or may not be available.

LOCK

Depending on your control panel:

Press once to arm in Stay mode.

LED blinks RED once upon transmission.

Press twice to arm in Away mode.

LED blinks RED once upon transmission.

UNLOCK

Press this button to disarm the system.
LED blinks RED once upon transmission.

LIGHT

For NetworX panels, press this button to arm the system in Stay mode.

For Concord
or Simon XT, it can turn
system
-
controlled

lights on or off. LED blinks RED once
upon tr
ansmission.

STAR

The star button function depends on the individual panel programming. Refer to the
installation instructions for your panel. LED blinks RED once upon transmission.

PANIC or AUX

If the keyfob is programmed using a panic or portable auxili
ary group number,
pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously will activate an audible or
silent alarm (depending on the group number) and initiate reports to the central
station. LED blinks RED once upon transmission.

Replacing the Batter

conditions.
Because keyfobs are non
-
supervised devices, a low battery signal will
only be received by the
control panel when the device is within range of the receiver
and a button is pressed (if the device is not in use, no low battery signal will be sent
until a button is pressed). When the device is carried beyond the range of the
receiver and/or is seldom
used/tested, the battery could wholly deplete without a
warning of the battery condition being sent to the panel. If the LED on the device
appears dim or does not turn on when a button is pressed, it is a warning that the
battery may be low or depleted and

should be replaced. To ensure proper
functionality, test the device weekly and follow these simple steps to replace the
battery when necessary:

1)

Remove

the case cover from the back housing by inserting a small flat
head scre
wdriver into the slot at the
bottom

of the
device and press

on
the tab.

2)

Remove the existing
battery

and re

battery. When inserting the battery
, pay close attention to the battery
polarity indicators to ensure p

placement.

3)

Replace the case cover
and

perform a sensor test to ensure proper
communication to the panel/receiver.
