Installation Sheet
Enrolling
To enroll the sensor
,
set your panel into program mode. Then go to the Learn Sensors menu.
Refer to your specific alarm panel manual for details on these menus.
With the battery installed,
activate the case tamper by removing the cap on the transmitter. Press and release the tamper
switch on the top of the contact circuit board until the panel r
esponds to the sensor. Then select
the appro
priate sensor group and number.
Mounting
The recessed sensor and
magnet are designed to
fit tightly
in
a ¾
” (19.05mm)
hole
.
A
small flange
on the outer rim ensures the case cannot be pushed too far into
the
hole.
Choose a suitable location for the sensor
by following the procedure in the section “Testing the
Sensor” ensuring desired signal strength is achieved.
D
rill a ¾
” x
2.5
”
(19.05 x 63.5mm)
inch hole in
the door for the sensor. Mark the location for
the magnet in the frame directly in line with the sensor
and dri
ll a ¾” x
½
” (19.05 x 12.7mm)
hole for the magnet.
Where possible, install sensors within 100 ft. (30 m) of the panel. While a transmitter may have an
open
-
air range of 500 ft. (150 m) or m
ore, the environment at the installati
on site may have a
significant e
ffect on operational range. Changing a sensor location may improve wireless
communication.
Testing the Sensor (Test Weekly)
The sensor test verifies proper communication between the s
ensor and the panel/receiver. To test
the sensor, refer to the specific panel/receiver docu
mentation and do the following:
1. Put the panel/
receiver into sensor test mode.
2. Open the door/window the sensor is protecting.
The sensor transmits a signal.
3.
Listen for siren beeps to dete
rmine the appropriate response.
4. Exit sensor test mode
.
I
nstalling / Replacing
the Battery
When the battery is low
,
a signal will be sent to the control panel. To install/replace the battery:
1. Remove the cap on the
transmitter.
2. Take note of how the circuit board fits into groves on the side of the case.
3. Carefully slide out the circuit board.
4. Inspect the battery holder to determine which side the battery is inserted
/
removed.
5. Install /
replace with a CR
-

battery ensuring the + side of the battery faces the circuit board.
6. Re
-
insert the circuit board so that the board slides within groves in the plastics.
7. Once in, replace the cap.
Note
