Dear Valued Customer,

As we previously shared on August 6, we determined that a limited number of our First Alert
VX1 Video Doorbells were exhibiting a red LED light for an extended time following installation,
and the chime would not sound. We stopped selling the product and i
dentified the cause as an
insufficiently charged battery. We have determined that, if the doorbell isn’t installed within 1
year of production, the embedded battery, which is responsible for powering the doorbell while
the external chime is activated, will
not support a smooth installation.




Resideo is taking the following actions:

•

Future shipments will include packaging that highlights a recommended installation date
to prevent low
-battery issues.

•

We’re preparing 2,500 new devices that will be ready to ship soon.



As we shared previously, we request the following next steps:

•

If the devices you installed are functioning as intended, no further action is required.

•

If you have an installed doorbell with this issue, please return it to the distributor where it
was purchased. You will receive a credit until new inventory arrives.

•

If you have doorbells that have not been installed, please return them to your distributor
for credit.
