The 2GIG ANT5XL-GC3 LTE Cellular Communicator Antenna will boost the communication strength and signal reliability for a 2GIG GC3, 2GIG GC3e, or 2GIG Edge System. With better signal strength, the panel will enjoy a better cellular reception and more consistent communication with the Alarm.com service.

Unlike its predecessors, the 2GIG Edge comes with the cellular communicator already built-in. You can purchase the 2GIG Edge in an AT&T LTE version or a Verizon LTE version. Being able to communicate reliably with Alarm.com is critical for a GC3, GC3e, or 2GIG Edge System. Better communication with Alarm.com will also allow Z-Wave devices to respond more quickly when activated remotely. Alarm.com forwards all alarm signals to a central monitoring station and/or the end user, depending on the monitoring plan selected. For Alarm Grid customers, a Gold or Platinum level plan (Self or Full) is required when using one of these panels. The exception would be if automation and remote access are not desired features, then a user can select Cellular Alarm Monitoring, which includes only traditional central station reporting via cellular or IP communicator.

The 2GIG ANT5XL-GC3 can be used with any of the GC3 and GC3e LTE Cellular Communicators as well as with either 2GIG Edge panel. This includes the 2GIG LTEA-A-GC3 AT&T LTE Communicator and the 2GIG LTEV1-A-GC3 Verizon LTE Communicator. If you don't have an LTE communicator for your system, make sure to upgrade before the 3G Sunset to prevent loss of monitoring service.

Flexible mounting options for the 2GIG-ANT5XL-GC3 make it easier to achieve a proper install and ensure strong signal communication with the cell tower. The device can be rotated to face directly towards a cell tower or away from obstacles that could cause interference, such as thick walls and large metal objects. When deciding on antenna placement, be sure to verify signal strength prior to permanent mounting.

The 2GIG-ANT5XL-GC3 connects into the GC3, GC3e, or 2GIG Edge Cell Radio. It features a 10-foot coax cable, and it has a weather protection rating of IP-65. However, we recommend installing the device in an attic rather than an outdoor setting when possible. The antenna measures 195mm by 39mm. Make sure to position the antenna for the strongest cellular signal possible.
