2GIG RPTR1e-345
Encrypted Wireless Repeater
Description
If you need to extend the communication range for any of the 2GIG Wireless Encrypted Sensors, then the 2GIG RPTR1e-345 is for you. It will double the range of the wireless sensors used with your 2GIG GC2e or GC3e. The repeater also works with 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors and Honeywell 5800 Sensors.
A wireless repeater takes the signal from a wireless sensor and sends it out a second time. This effectively doubles the communication range for the sensor. You will want to have the repeater placed in a strategic location so that range can be maximized. Wireless repeaters are perfect for overcoming signal limitations, especially in situations where communication is disrupted due to thick walls or other obstacles.
The 2GIG Wireless Encrypted Sensors have a communication range of about 350 nominal feet when no repeater is used. By adding a repeater, you will effectively increase this maximum distance to 700 nominal feet. Keep in mind that thick walls and large metal objects can still disrupt range even when a repeater is used. Remember to test your sensors to make sure that they communicate successfully.
You can also use the 2GIG RPTR1e-345 with non-encrypted Honeywell 5800 Sensors and 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors. If you have a mixture of encrypted and non-encrypted sensors set up with your system, then the 2GIG RPTR1e-345 will offer the perfect solution. Any encrypted sensors will retain their encryption when communicating through the 2GIG RPTR1e-345. You will not need to worry about your encrypted sensors being hacked or taken over when using this device.
Please note that while the 2GIG RPTR1e-345 can repeat the signals for 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors and Honeywell 5800 Sensors, it will not convert these non-encrypted signals into encrypted signals. They will remain non-encrypted. Also note that you cannot use multiple 2GIG RPTR1e-345 devices to repeat signals more than once. Each sensor signal can only be repeated one time. However, you can have two (2) 2GIG RPTR1e-345 devices going out in different directions from the panel to repeat signals coming from both ways.
The 2GIG RPTR1e-345 comes included with a 24-hour backup battery. It has a repeat indicator in the signal to prevent a "repeated signal storm". The 2GIG RPTR1e-345 is a plug-and-play device, and it does not need to be programmed with the system. However, you can still program it for tamper, AC loss, and low battery supervision if desired.
