Alarm.com ADC-VDBA-770BAT

The Alarm.com ADC-VDBA-770BAT replaces existing ADC-VDB770 batteries that have reached end-of-life. The ADC-VDBA-770BAT can also replace the battery-less insert in the ADC-VDB770. Homes with a wired digital chime require a battery and cannot use the battery-less insert. If you are using a digital chime and purchasing a new ADC-VDB770, this is a required accessory, since they now ship with a battery-less insert.

The ADC-VDB770 video doorbell previously shipped with an internal battery and heater to allow it to operate even in low temperature environments. Recently, they switched to a battery-less insert to allow it to operate in low temperature environments and also in environments with a lot of direct sunlight. The battery-less insert resists over-heating that can occur in warm environments with a lot of direct sunlight. This resulted in the change to overcome some of the battery-related challenges that some experienced in hot environments.

The battery-less insert is perfect for installations with a standard mechanical chime. But installations with a digital chime, MUST use a battery and cannot use the battery-less insert. For this reason, if you are purchasing a new ADC-VDB770 and you have a digital chime, you must also purchase this ADC-VDBA-770BAT. You will need to swap the battery-less insert for the battery before installation.

The ADC-VDBA-770BAT is also for those customers who have had the ADC-VDB770 but now require a battery replacement. The ADC-VDBA-770BAT is a new battery kit only used for the ADC-VDB770. It is not compatible with any other Alarm.com doorbell cameras.

Replacing the existing battery is straight-forward and is not complicated. The ADC-VDBA-770BAT has 2 connectors that will be unplugged. There is a 2-wire connector for the heater and a 3-wire connector for the battery. Once the old battery or battery-less insert is removed, the same two (2) connectors are used for the new ADC-VDBA-770BAT.
