GRI CMMF-875

The GRI CMMF-875 is a rare Earth surface-mount magnet. It should be placed on the moving portion of a door or window and properly aligned with the sensor. This rare Earth magnet offers impressive strength and measures 0.96"L x 0.46"W x 0.22"D. Test the sensor and magnet after installing.

Rare Earth magnets like the GRI CMMF-875 are known for their strong magnetic power. A door or window sensor relies on this magnetic power to ensure that its internal reed switch remains closed when the door or window is shut. You will want to make sure that the magnet is properly aligned with the sensor. Normally, the sensor will have some type of marking to indicate which side should be facing the magnet. By opening the door or window, you will cause the magnet to separate from the sensor. This will release the sensor's reed switch and tell the sensor to alert the system.

The GRI CMMF-875 is just short of one-inch in length at 0.96". Remember that the sensor should be larger than the magnet for an aesthetically pleasing installation. You should make sure to test the sensor once installation is complete. This is the best way to make sure that the system responds appropriately when the door or window is opened and closed.
