GRI M-500

The GRI M-500 is a surface-mount magnet that measures 7/8"L x 1/4"W x 1/4"D. It is used with a door/window contact sensor. The M-500 Magnet is installed on a moving door or window structure. It should be properly aligned with the sensor on the door or window frame. Test after installation.

When using a surface-mount magnet like the GRI M-500, you want to make sure that the sensor is properly aligned with the magnet. The sensor will typically have a marking on an indentation letting you know which side should face the magnet. The sensor and magnet should be as close as possible when the door or window is closed. Ideally, they should be in direct contact.

As the M-500 is 7/8" long, it is best used with sensors of a similar length, or those that are slightly longer. You want the sensor to match the magnet and look aesthetically pleasing when the installation is complete. It is recommended that you test the sensor and magnet combination to make sure the panel can properly identify when the door is opened and closed.
