Honeywell 4101SN

The Honeywell 4101SN provides a single Form C relay output for a Honeywell Polling Loop Panel. The system must support Serial Number addressing to use the 4101SN. It is a good alternative to the Honeywell 4204 when only one (1) relay output is needed, rather than the four (4) from the 4204.

Adding an additional relay output can really come in handy if you need to have your system automatically trigger a connected device. Since this is a Form C relay output, Normally Closed (NC) or Normally Open (NO) wiring can be used when connecting devices to the relay. The 4101SN module uses its connection with the polling loop for both power and communication with the panel. It draws only 7 mA of current from the polling loop.

The Honeywell 4101SN also provides a single Class B EOLR-supervised auxiliary input zone for adding a wired sensor. The contact rating for the 4101SN is 2A @ 28VAC/DC. The polling loop connection for the relay is always supervised. In addition, the 4101SN relay can be supervised on panels that support it. When enabled, if the panel commands the relay to change state, but the relay fails to do so, a supervision zone can indicate that the relay is not functioning properly. Relay supervision is enabled through the use of zones in the 600 range on panels that support it. A supervision error can result in a "Check 6XX" error, where XX is the output number of the programmed relay.

Please note that the Honeywell 4101SN should be housed in a protective plastic enclosure. The enclosure has a tamper switch to alert the system if someone tries to open up or disable the module. The module measures 3.25"L x 2.125"W x 1"D. The enclosure can be housed in the panel's metal cabinet if sufficient space is available. Or it can be mounted outside the metal enclosure on a wall.
