Honeywell 960-2

The Honeywell 960-2 is an XTP surface mount magnetic contact very similar to the Honeywell 960 contact. However, unlike the 960 which has a Form A, SPST, normally closed switch, the 960-2 has a Form C, SPDT switch that can be wired for normally closed or normally open circuits. The 960-2 contact is rated for 100mA at 28VDC and, because it is a Honeywell XTP Series contact, it can withstand a surge of up to 2400VDC.

The Honeywell 960-2 should be surface mounted and features a 3’ long armored cable which protects the contact’s wires. The contact is ideal for commercial applications for many reasons. The contact casing is made of tough aluminum and is epoxy sealed to protect the 960-2 from moisture or corrosion. You can use the magnetic contact in temperatures as low as -40° F and as high as 194° F. Finally, the 960-2 has a wide gap so that the magnet can be as far away as 2.5” from the contact before an alarm is triggered. The wide gap makes the 960-2 great for outside fences and gates as a fence or gate can move in the wind and cause false alarms when contacts have a gap that isn’t so wide.
