Description
The Honeywell CDMA-L3 is the newest AlarmNet cellular communicator for the L3000 LYNX Plus. Honeywell has limited cellular communicators on all of their alarm systems for many years to the AT&T network. The CDMA-L3 allows L3000 LYNX Plus owners to setup cellular communications on the Verizon CDMA-1X network! This is perfect for areas of the country that do not support decent A&T cellular signal. Honeywell has been guaranteed CDMA-1x coverage from Verizon until the CDMA Network shutdown.
Like any AlarmNet radio, the CDMA-L3 does require a monthly subscription with a Honeywell dealer. Generally, this service will include the monthly data charges incurred by Verizon. In other words, the end user pays the Honeywell dealer a flat rate per month for alarm monitoring. This will include the cellular data charges and in some cases includes the Total Connect 2.0 service.
This radio is capable of communicating alarm signals to AlarmNet server which can be forwarded to a central station and/or the interactive Total Connect app; depending on the service you sign up for. Forget old landline POTS lines that require separate monthly costs and are susceptible to line cuts. Even internet communicators rely on AC power to the router and modem and in some cases can be compromised with a cut to the feed.
Cellular communications are the most reliable option available. They do not rely on any local hardware except the alarm panel itself. The L3000 has a battery backup that allows cellular modules to transmit and receive signals during a power outage. Now all of the benefits of cellular comms are available on your choice of the Verizon or AT&T network
