Honeywell Home K4563V1
Panic/Hold-Up Switch Reset Key
Description
The Honeywell Home K4563V1 is a panic or hold-up switch reset key. It is compatible with the Honeywell 5869, 269R, 270R. It can serve as a replacement key if the included reset key has become lost or damaged. The Honeywell Home K4563V1 is made of plastic. It resembles a golf divot tool and has two (2) arms that needs inserted into the corresponding panic buttons' holes.
The Honeywell 5869, 269R, and the 270R serve as hold-up panic switches. They are typically used in commercial environments but can serve the same purpose wherever they are installed. When an intruder is present, you use you finger to trigger the red panic button. Once the hold-up switch is triggered it stays triggered until it is reset. Th only way to reset the panic is the use a reset key, like the K4563V1. Only after resetting the panic can it then be tripped again.
The Honeywell Home K4563V1 is a newer version of the now discontinued K4563. They are basically identical and operate in the same exact manner. The K4563V1 also has a hole at the top. This can be used to hang the reset key in a safe place away from the panic switch. It can also be used to tether it to another object. Again, it would not be safe to store the reset key in close proximity to the hold-up switch. It should not be easily accessible by an intruder. If you need a replacement reset key, then the K4563V1 is what your are looking for.
