Honeywell IPCAM-WI2EXT

The Honeywell IPCAM-WI2EXT is a 9’ extension cable for the IPCAM-WIPS power supply that provides power to a IPCAM-WI2 fixed IP security camera.

Honeywell security cameras, when paired with a Total Connect video account, allow you to remotely view your property from a web browser, Tuxedo Touch or Tuxedo Touch WIFI keypad or any internet enabled smartphone. The cameras can send video back to your wireless router using an Ethernet cable or by using the WiFi feature of the IPCAM-WI2 fixed IP cameras. However, while you can utilize the wireless feature for sending the video data, you will need to plug the security camera into an unswitched wall outlet to provide power to the camera. Therefore, you must choose an installation location for your IPCAM-WI2 that has an open wall outlet nearby. The cord connected to the IPCAM-WIPS power supply is only 6’ long. If you need to extend the length of the power supply cord to reach a wall outlet that is further than 6’ away from your security camera, you can easily add the IPCAM-WI2EXT 9’ extension cable to provide a total of 15’ of cable.

To install the IPCAM-WI2EXT, simply plug the DC connecter at the end of the IPCAM-WI2PS into the female end of the IPCAM-WI2EXT extension cable. Then, plug the male end of the IPCAM-WI2EXT into the ‘POWER’ port on the backside of the IPCAM-WI2 or IPCAM-WI2B security cameras. We do not recommend trying to extend the cable for a Honeywell fixed IP security camera any further than the 15’ provided by the combination of the IPCAM-WIPS power cord and an IPCAM-WI2EXT extension cable. You should choose a different installation location for your IPCAM-WI2 if there is not a wall outlet within 15’ of where you’d like to install the security camera.
