Description

The Nascom PLUNGER-D is a 433 MHz wireless recessed plunger is compatible with DSC wireless alarms. It is part of the iON line of sensors from Nascom. It is 3/4" and easy to install. The PLUNGER 2GIG recesses into the door jamb and is powered by one (1) CR1620 coin-cell battery coin-cell battery.

The PLUNGER-D is a single device and needs no magnet. The plunger sensor mounts inside the hinged side of the door jamb. It has an internal magnet and does not require a second piece. When the door closes, the plunger is depressed and it satisfies the zone. Once the door opens, the plunger pops out and triggers the contact. This causes a fault or an alarm, depending on the state of the alarm system.

The PLUNGER-D operates on the DSC 433 MHz wireless sensor frequency. It is compatible with any alarm system that supports DSC 433 MHz frequency. This includes Qolsys panels that have the 433 card and the Resideo Pro Series panels with a PROTAKEOVER module.

The PLUNGER-D will work on any panel that supports the DSC 433 MHz wireless signal. If you are looking for different frequencies, we also have a PLUNGER G for GE 319.5 MHz, PLUNGER 2GIG for 2GIG 345 MHz, and a 5800RPS for Honeywell's 345 MHz signal.

The Plunger installs easily with a 3/4" drill bit to accommodate the sensor and a 1/4" drill bit to accommodate the antenna. The PLUNGER-D includes a plastic straw that covers the antenna. The purpose is to keep the antenna straight. Keeping the antenna straight will provide the maximum transmitting range. Never coil or cut the antenna. If space is an issue, you can bend the antenna in half, but this could reduce the transmitting range. Please see the Plunger data sheet for details.
