Resideo Z5DIMPID

The Resideo Z5DIMPID is a plug-in smart dimmer module that uses Z-Wave Plus technology. You plug the device into an outlet and then plug a lamp into the Z-Wave outlet for smart control over the appliance. This will allow you to turn your lamp ON/OFF and dim the light from virtually anywhere.

Plug-in modules are a great way to provide smart control over your lights. Just connect any lamp you want to control to the dimmer module and pair the module with your Z-Wave network. Nearly any Z-Wave controller will support the module, but we recommend using a Z-Wave Plus controller for optimal wireless range. Remember that you should always clear (exclude) a Z-Wave device before attempting to add (include) it to a network.

If you pair the device with your Resideo Alarm System, then you can control the light from Total Connect 2.0. You just need a monitoring plan that includes access to the TC2 service for automation. Total Connect 2.0 is super convenient, as you can use a mobile app to control your lights from anywhere. You can even set up smart scenes to have your lights activate automatically based on a set schedule or with certain predetermined system events. Total Connect 2.0 is also compatible with many smart home assistants like Amazon Alexa.

It is very important that you do not exceed the maximum allowed current load for the Z5DIMPID. The plug-in module can support up to 300W for incandescent bulbs, or 100W for dimmable CFL and LED bulbs. There is also a non-Z-Wave pass-through outlet that can support up to 1800W. The device can be used from up to 150 feet away from the Z-Wave hub when you set up other devices for signal hopping. Z-Wave devices will support up to four (4) hops. An ON/OFF switch comes built into the module.
