Resolution Products RE508X

The Resolution Products RE508X is a universal wired to wireless alarm system sensor converter module. Similar to the Honeywell 5800C2W, this product supports up to 8 wired zones in the form of burglary sensors such as contacts, motion detectors, and glass breaks. It does not support life safety devices such as smoke, heat or CO detectors. The converter should be mounted more than 5 feet from the receiver it is speaking to. It is always good practice to keep the unit outside of any metal cabinet for obvious RF transmission purposes. What separates this product from any other wired to wireless converter, is the ability to select varying different RF technologies to convert the wired zones to. Essentially it will convert any wired sensor (excluding life safety devices) to the following RF technologies: Cryptix, 2GIG, Interlogix (GE), DSC and Honeywell.

The RE508X requires 12VDC power which can be connected using the included transformer with a DC barrel plug (12VDC @ 1A). If you are custom cabling, land 18 to 22AWG wiring to the power input beside the DC port. There is also a low voltage output(12VDC @ 150mA) designed to power wired sensors like motions and glass breaks. Always remove AC and DC power inputs before landing any wiring. When powering up there is a 90 second lockout period that prevents any RF transmissions from occurring.

The wired zones can be configured as normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) with or without an end of line of resistor (NC w/ EOL, NC w/o EOL, NO w/ EOL or NO w/o EOL). There is configuration that can found in the guide where the module is put into learning mode after the sensors are physically positioned in their "normal" state. For example, if you have a NC w/ EOL zone you want to close the door or window and wire your resistor in series at the end of line.
