The Yale YRBB-MD-CB1-GRY Smart Delivery Box is intended to thwart package thieves and provide peace of mind to homeowners. While most businesses have someone available to receive packages in person, homeowners have long been vulnerable to "Porch Pirates". The Yale Smart Delivery Box changes that.

The Yale Smart Delivery Box can be weighted with sand, and/or tethered to the house, porch, or railing to prevent its removal. It comes with the Yale Connect WIFI Bridge. Once joined to the WIFI network, the lock for the Smart Delivery Box can be controlled through the Yale Access App. Through the app, you can be notified when deliveries occur, in addition to being able to lock and unlock the box. It can even be controlled using Amazon Alexa, Siri, or Google Home Assistant.

Alarm Grid is offering the Yale Smart Delivery Box in the Kent style and Manor Gray color. This version of the product does not include the optional keypad, so if you would like the added convenience of allowing delivery personnel to use their own code to open the box, or if you need to be able to open the box when you don't have your phone handy, be sure to purchase the Yale YRBB-BD-CB1K-GRY - Yale Smart Delivery Box with Smart Keypad.

Installation of the Yale Smart Delivery Box is simple. Set the box in the intended spot. Be sure it can sit flat and level. It is recommended to use a 50 Lb. (22kg) bag of sand, such as the type used for pool filters, to weigh the box down. Leave the sand inside the bag and place it in the bottom of the Smart Delivery Box. Be sure that the sand is pressed out flat, then insert the floor tray provided with the Smart Delivery Box. Be sure it sits level. If you prefer not to use sand, you can also use a 30 Lb. (13.6kg) concrete block at the bottom of the box. If you choose this method of weighing the box down, be sure to center the block before placing the floor tray. This will prevent the box from tipping when packages are added. The tether to attach the Smart Delivery Box to the home, porch, or railing is sold separately. Refer to the installation instructions on how to obtain one.

Once the box itself has been installed, you'll install the Yale Smart Lock. This comes in two (2) parts, the lock bracket and the lock. Swing open the bracket lever, snap the Yale Smart Lock into place, then swing the bracket lever closed. Now check the lock alignment by gently closing the lid. This will allow you to verify that the lock post in the top of the Smart Delivery Box lines up correctly with the lock itself, and that it slides into place smoothly. It is possible that during shipping the box may be jostled, and the lock post may move out of proper position. If this is the case, use the included T-15 Torx Bit to loosen the lock post bracket from the outside top of the lid. Reposition the post while gently closing the lid until it closes smoothly, then retighten the lock post bracket. The included Yale logo plate will then snap into place on top of the lock post bracket.

The Yale Connect WIFI Bridge should be plugged into an outlet inside the home, within 15' (4.5m) of the Yale Smart Delivery Box. Be sure to download the Yale Access App from the iOS or Google app store. Create an account, if necessary. If you happen to have an August lock and use the August App, you can use the same credentials for the Yale Access App. You'll use the app to setup the Yale Connect WIFI Bridge. The Bridge can only use 2.4 GHz WIFI, so be sure your smart device is connected to a 2.4 GHz network. Go through the steps to set up the WIFI Bridge provided in the instructions. The Bridge uses WIFI to communicate with the end-user via the App, and it uses Bluetooth to communicate to the lock in the Smart Delivery Box. During the setup, good signal levels for both WIFI and Bluetooth will be verified.
