I did a google search on how to run wire and install alarms and alarmgrid kept coming up in the search results. I looked at the website and looked around to see if it was a credible company and it had a lot of information about what to buy.

I ran all of the alarm wiring when our house was being built. Afterwards, I connected all of the components using some YouTube videos from Alarm Grid as well as some other sources.

We had an alarm system with our previous home but did not renew the monthly subscription. It was not ideal because if the alarm sounded, we would have to rely on our neighbors to contact us and then we would have to come home to turn it off or have a neighbor come into the home to turn it off. With Total Connect, I get alerts on my phone for anything I want to be alerted to now. I can arm and disarm the system from anywhere and I can check in to make sure everything is secure at any time. I am also notified whenever someone returns home and turns off the alarm as well as if the alarm was not set when we leave. I never have to worry about that now that I can control my alarm from my phone.

What Do You Like Most About Your System?

I like the Tuxedo touch LCD display and navigation options. I like to be able to view the status of our alarm and any alerts from my PC or from my phone. I especially love being able to arm and disarm the system at any time from anywhere.

Did You Take Advantage of the Homeowners Insurance Discount?

I contacted our home owners insurance and they applied a discount to our policy. The discount was enough to cover the monthly costs we have with Alarm Grid, so it was a great deal. It is like getting self monitoring services and remote control options for free.
