Disarming and Arming the Simon XTi from a Phone

hey deal wires I'm George from alarm grid today I'm gonna be showing you guys how to arm and disarm the Simon XTi and XT i-5 from your phone now your phone whether you're using an Android or iOS iOS device you can actually go to your app store or Play Store and find the alarm.com application the alarm.com application is how you interact with these systems remotely now the system does need to have a alarm comm module built in it's a cellular module and basically what that allows you to do it allows the system to communicate to alarm comm which is what you're using on your phone to arm and disarm and interact with the system remotely now mine is already set up I actually I'm using a tablet it is an Apple tablet so it all again all you had to do is download the app the apps looks the same on the phone or the tablet as well so once I hit the alarm.com application now if you're a new user then it's gonna ask you for your login and your login username and your password that's all given to you through your monitoring company so you want to make sure that if you are looking to interact with your Simon XT and you have an alarm comm module that your company enables that for you now we actually do have a lot of plans that include the app so if you want to find out more you can always contact us as well so once I have the app opened it automatically takes you to your home screen you'll see here that my actual security system status shows disarmed on the app and on the system it also shows disarmed you can see there the lock is unlocked and it says press - armed all my doors are closed everything is okay now from the app all you have to do to arm and disarm the system is just tap on the security system and it gives you the option to do an arm away or arm stay now the silent arming what that is is basically when you do an arm away the system gives you an exit and exit delay usually it's about 60 seconds depends on whatever you have your panel program to do now within those 60 seconds as a panel if you have it enabled it starts beeping yeah it gives you that exit delay beat to let you know the system is in the middle of arming and you need to exit the house when it gets closer to like the last ten seconds it does start beeping more rapidly letting you know that it's almost close it the countdown is almost down to zero so if you do silent arming all you have to do is tap it that means when you go to arm the system it will not no longer beep you it will no longer beep does exit exit delay beeps now no entry delay if I enable that you'll see only arm stay becomes available and no engineering no entry delay means that any entry exit doors that you have on your system such as let's say a front door would normally be set to exit delay meaning that you know you have 30 to 60 seconds to exit the house 30 to 60 seconds to enter the house to disarm the system now if I do no entry delay and are it only gives me the arms stay option mainly because the fact that if you're away from the house if you open up the door the alarm is gonna go off right away so there's a way to prevent false alarms you can only do no entry delay when you do an armed stay because it knows that somebody's in the house and before opening a door you should disarm the system now I'm just gonna go ahead and uncheck no entry delay just so I can show you guys an arm away on the actual system once I hit armor wait the panel will announce doors and windows doors and windows monitored or the system has its own reward for that you'll see so it just says doors and windows on doors and windows on and motions are on yeah now the system you see the status actually went to away and it says press to disarm now you can either disarm at the system itself or you can also use the app all you have to do is press on the app and hit disarm the command gets sent through alarm.com servers to the cellular module and it gets pushed down to the system which is why you now see that these system shows disarmed and again I'm going to show you arm stay and I'll do silent arming again and I'll do no entry delay arm stay it's actually announcing to you that doors and windows are on and that there's no entry delay so he knows that somebody's in the house and it's just Lenny you know that there's no entry today that way whoever is home knows that they should not open up the front door which normally has a delay on it because if they do it's gonna set the alarm off right away and you don't want to cause a false alarm cuz depending on your city or county there could be some fees I'm gonna go ahead and do one last disarm really quick sends the command down the system goes into a disarm state and ladies and gentlemen that is how you armed and disarmed the Simon XTi it's the same process for the xti five through your phone or tablet again this is whether you're using iOS or Android device if you guys do want to find out more give us a shoot us an email the email is support at alarm care calm if you guys found this video helpful make sure you hit like underneath subscribe to the channel and enable notifications that way whenever we upload new content you guys do get notified thank you guys my name is Jorge I'll see you guys next time
