Honeywell VAM: Programming Z-Wave Devices to the VISTA Automation Module

The following steps will show you how to enroll Z-Wave devices to the Vista Automation Module, or VAM. Please refer to the Z-Wave device manual on how to enroll the device. To enroll Honeywell's Z-Wave thermostat, do the following. Open the VAM Home screen by selecting the bookmark on the tablet device. From the VAM Home screen, select the Automation icon. This will take you to the Z-Wave Control Screen. Select the Z-Wave Setup icon. To enroll any Z-Wave enabled device, select the Add Device icon, you will be prompted to add the device. In this example, we will add a Honeywell Z-Wave thermostat. Select Programming Mode. Select RT 10. Arrow up once to enroll the device. You should see the device added to the list. To rename the device, select it to highlight it in the list. Select the Edit Name icon. Clear the entry window, then type in a name. In this example, we will use Main T-stat. Select the green checkmark when done. You can return to the VAM Controller Home Screen at any time by selecting the Home icon. To enroll a Z-Wave wall switch, select the Automation icon. Select the Z-Wave Setup icon. Select the Add Device icon. You will be prompted to add the device. Toggle the Z-Wave light-switch once, turning it either on or off. You should see the device added to the list. To rename the device, select it to highlight. Select the Edit Name icon. Clear of the entry window, then type in a name. In this example, we will use Hall Light. Select the green checkmark when done. To enroll a Z-Wave door lock, select the Add Device icon. Remove the cover to the Z-Wave door lock and press the Enroll button. You should see the device added to the list. To rename the device, select it to highlight. Select to the Edit Name icon. Clear the entry window, then type in a name. For this example, we'll use Front Door Lock. Select the green checkmark when done. Congratulations. You have successfully set up these Z-Wave devices.
