Hi, DI wires. This is Michael from Alarm Grid. And today, I'm going to show you how to enroll a key fob with a 2GIG GC3e security system. Now the 2GIG GC3e supports 345 megahertz sensors, so it supports 345 megahertz key fobs. Those include the KEY 2345 from 2GIG. That's pretty much the standard one. There's also a KEY 2E. That that's the encrypted model that you can use with the GC3e and the GC2e. But today, I have a Honeywell 5800/5834-4 key fob. And this one worked just fine with it. So we're going to get into programming it. So we start from our main screen of the to 2GIG GC3e. And we choose the logo in the upper right corner, the 2GIG logo. And we enter in our installer code, which ours is at the default 1561. And then we're going to choose System Configuration. And we're going to choose Key Fobs. And just reminder, a key fob will allow you to arm and disarm your panel from a distance, which can be convenient. You can put it on your key chain and control it that way. So you'll see, we have up to 32 key fobs that we can set up with the system. We're just going to use Key Fob 1. You scroll through that on the left side. And then we just go from top to down, going through all the options here. And so Key Fob Used. We obviously want ours to be enabled, otherwise, why would we be doing this? That would be pretty pointless. So we put ours to Enabled. And then we choose the equipment code. And you see that we're using the Honeywell 5834-4. And that one's actually not on there. So we can just choose Existing Key Fob. Otherwise just choose the one that-- your model number that appears on there. Or you can choose Existing if it doesn't. Serial number. We're going to auto-enroll ours, so that way, we don't have to manually enter the serial number. So there's the Learn button in the bottom right corner, and we're just going to press that, and now it's listening. And we're going to hold one of the buttons on here. And it received the input. That's the serial number for this key fob. So we're just going to choose Accept. And then Smart Areas Assignment. This is for the partitioning feature that you can use with the GC3 and GC3e. We don't have a partitioning setup, so we're going to keep ours at S1. But if you want to use your key fob on a particular partition, then choose one of the four partitions there. Equipment age doesn't actually do anything. This is just something GC3 2GIG put in there for fun, I guess. It doesn't matter which one we choose. We'll just keep ours at new. And I accidentally skipped one there. Emergency Key. So this only applies for the 2GIG key fobs. You can't actually do anything on the Honeywell key fobs. I know traditionally, you'd use the panic button right here to trigger an auxiliary button. But on a 2GIG system, this input's actually only for an auxiliary relay device that you would have connected to the output on the system, which we don't have set up. And that's a different setting in key fob programming. So since we're using the Honeywell 5834-4, we can't really do anything with this. If we had a 2GIG key fob, then we could press and hold the top two buttons on the key fob. Those would be the Arm Away and the Disarm buttons. You'd press and hold both of them at the same time. And then that would trigger whatever panic you sent in here. I'll quickly go through these. Auxiliary is for an auxiliary medical panic. You'd want to set that up with your central station. Make sure they know on the central station document what the auxiliary input's for. Audible is for an audible intrusion alarm. It's going to activate the sirens, scare off an intruder. Silent is just for a silent panic. Same thing, but it's not going to produce a siren. So that's if you want to discreetly trigger an alarm so the police show up without anyone knowing necessarily right away. And then fire is for a fire alarm. If there's a fire emergency, then the fire department can be dispatched, assuming it's allowed in your local jurisdiction. So we're going to keep ours at disabled, because like I said, the 5834 can't actually do this. And then Fob Disarm. You'd usually want to put this to Enabled unless, for whatever reason, you didn't want to be able to disarm using your key fob. Then Voice Descriptor. You can choose a name for your key fob. Key Fob. There. We chose that. So that's our voice descriptor. That's what can speak out. We actually have our speaker unplugged, so we won't get to hear that. But that's what would happen. Armed with No Entry Delay. OK, so this setting, if enabled, then when you go to arm your system using the key fob, then when you activate an entry/exit zone later, you won't get an entry delay. Instead an immediate alarm will occur on your system if you fault an entry/exit zone after arming with this key fob. That can be useful, because maybe you want to have this-- you expect to disarm using the key fob while you're still outside, or maybe you are disarming from Alarm.com but you're not going inside at the panel to disarm. So that can be a good security feature in some cases if you really want to make sure that you are disarming outside the building rather than entering. Most people will just want to have the option to disable at the panel though, so most people will keep this disabled. But if you want it there, then it is possible. And like I was talking about earlier, here's the Fob Output. They have two types-- Toggle and Momentary. Our FAQ explains more about it. One's for turning devices on off, and one's for more third-party devices, such as garage door controllers. So you can set that up. It would be a wire device in the back. It triggers the relay output for the panel. But we don't have that set up, so we'll just choose Disabled. And so we finished setting up the key fob, so we can go over to the next key fob if we wanted to, but in our case, we only have one key fob. So we'll just go to Return to System Configuration. And you see that the Key Fob button is highlighted, indicating that there are changes. We can press the back arrow. We can choose Save to save the changes. And that will finish adding the key fob, and I'm just going to show you how it works here. We're going to try arming away. And you see it armed away. We'll try disarming. Disarms. And we'll try arming stay. And it arms stay. And disarms. And our key fob is working fantastically. So we have our key fob enrolled with our 2GIG GC3e, and that's how you would enroll a key fob with a 2GIG GC3e.
