Solution to the Honeywell Lyric Displaying a 950 Com Error

hey DIYs don't hair with alarmgrid today we're going over how to get rid of the 950 chimera on a lyric controller sort of 950 chimera means is that the panel is not communicating with the AlarmNet 360 servers which are the honeywell servers where these panels get registered to if you wanted to do Total Connect if you want this to be set with the Central Station and so on and so forth basically right out the box these panels are designed to be monitored normally they're done by professional installations obviously with the DIY market growing and the lyric being a simple panel anyway there are a lot of DIY installations of the lyric which is fine and very very simple but basically once you get out of the box you're gonna notice that it's going to give you the 950 Camaro right away ours has the 950 Camaro right here you see it says reddit arm system trouble if I press on the home key those show me my actual error there as if I could clear it so if I clear this it's not going to do anything because this is still not registered with anything it's just sitting there if you want to get rid of the error there are a couple ways to do it obviously main way is to get monitored have the system registered to alarm at 360 get Total Connect to monitoring all setup and that eliminates the air right there you only see it if the panel ever loses connection to that server if you're not interested in monitoring or if it's something they're going to do later down the line you can always disable the communicator within the panel however if you ever did want to do monitoring later you're gonna have to re-enable it anyway so it's a disabled you're going to go into the security settings which is this screen right here I'll show you social security then this is that screen we're gonna go into tools enter in your installer code for one one two is the default we're gonna go to program we're going to go to communicator right there and then as you can see ours is set to Wi-Fi in cell so this is defaulted it's not connected to anything my communication path is enabled I could even be connected online to my network and everything would be fine but if I'm not registered I still get the error so I'm going to disable this so set it to none do save wait for that to go through and then basically once this is done and once it shows that the communication path has been disabled when I go back to the home screen I might still have the error there if I do I'll just do two consecutive disarms it should clear it right away but more than likely I won't even have the error so that's done we're gonna press ok we're gonna back out to the home screen and as you can see already I'd only have to clear it at the top it says read at arm if I press on my home key I'm not getting any error messages showing up I'm not getting a keypad to disarm or anything so that's showing my system is fine there was no errors all basically it's dead it's not looking for anything communicate or shut off so if you did want to get monitoring you're gonna have to go back into tools for one one two installer code program communicator and then set it to however you want it for us we're just gonna do Wi-Fi and cell agains and SATs how it was set up before so for the registration process you're gonna have to contact an alarm dealer basically they're gonna need the MAC address and the CRC codes from the panel we have more if akyüz on our website about that so you can get that information but pretty much once you give them that information they're gonna register the system they'll contact you letting you know how to finish up the Association process because you do have to do something from the lyric but basically once that is connected and once it's registered you're good it's registered it will be online and then as mentioned as long as it's keeping that constant connection to the server that 950 comm error is not gonna show up again if it does show up again you're gonna want to check that you're still connected online you're gonna wanna check that the cell signal is so good and if both of those looking good reboot the panel sometimes a reboot of the panel can kick them into place if you did have more questions or want to learn more about the lyric or the 950 comm error you can check out our website www.engvid.com down there thank you very much and have a good day
