1000-Feet 22/4 Solid Core Alarm Wire
When setting up a wired system, actual alarm wires are very important. These wires connect virtually every device used with a system, including sensors, communicators, keypads, and more. Ironically, you might even wire in a wireless receiver so that your system can support wireless sensors, and you won't need to use hardwired sensors anymore. You could also keep some wired sensors and add some wireless ones to achieve a nice combination of sorts. That is sometimes referred to as a hybrid security system. But to add that wireless receiver, you will need to wire it in with the system. And that takes us back to alarm wiring. Everything used with a hardwired system will ultimately come down to wiring.
The listings here are for 22 gauge, 4-conductor alarm wiring. These are all 1,000-foot rolls, so they should last you awhile depending on how you use it. If you are a frequent electrician or a professional installer, you may need to stock up on a few rolls. But if you are a DIYer just doing occasional upgrades or some tinkering in your workshop, then it will probably get your through many projects. We also sell 500-foot rolls of wire on different pages if you think that 1,000 feet is too much. And for many people, 1,000 feet is way too much. You might even consider going to your local hardware store if you just need a very small amount of wire. We don't sell custom amounts on our website, so we respect your decision to shop locally if preferred.
At 22 gauge, this wire is thinner and more flexible than the 18 gauge wiring that is most commonly used with security systems. But you should keep in mind that as the thinner wire, 22 gauge cabling will not support as long of wire runs. If you are unsure about which type to get, then go with 18 gauge wire as a safe bet. Also consider that the listings here are for solid core wiring. We personally prefer stranded wiring, and that is what we recommend for newbies and those who are not particularly fond of wiring. But if you are experienced and prefer working with solid core wiring, then we have it for you right here.
