Guide
GENERAL
INFORMATION
The
PROLTE
Series
Communication Modules
use
an internal multi
band cellular antenna. In most cases
, this
antenna will provide sufficient
quality of signal
(QOS
) for
a successful ins
tallation.
Compatible Control Panels:
PRO
Series
Control
Panels
The
PRO
LTE
-ANT
Fixed Length Antenna
should be used in installations where moving the antenna to a higher
point will provide
a better
quality of signal
.
Installation
Note:
For
the
best
QOS
, maintain at least 12 inches of clearance between the
communication
module
and steel I
-beams, HVAC ducts, metal studs, steel roofs, exterior walls with
metalized insulation or aluminum siding and other large metal objects.
Kit Includes:

US, Verizon Network)
,
PROLTE-
CN (Canada Bell Network)
INDOOR/OUTDOOR
ANTENNA
The
antenna
is water
proof
, and
can
be installed indoors
or outdoors.
The antenna should be mounted on a
glass, plastic, drywall, masonry or wood surface verti
cally
, while maintaining 12 inches of c
learance from large
metal object
s. Do not install on a metal surface.

Installation
Install the antenna as follows:
1. Find a suitable location for mounting
the antenna vertically.
2. Power down the Control P
anel. Refer
to the PROLTE
Wireless
Communication Module Installation
Guide for Replacing the Module (P/N
800-
25165).
3. Remove the screw securing the
control panel
to the wall or desk
mount (if installed).
4. Remove the
control panel
from the
wall or desk mount (if installed).
5. Remove t
he screw retaining the
module (if installed).
6. Remove the PROLTE
module (if
installed).
7. Plug the MMCX end of the
PROLTE-
EXTCX
cable into the module’s
external antenna port and route the
cable as
shown in Figure 2.
8. Set the switc
h on the module to EXT.
9. Install the module in the panel and
secure with the screw.
10.
Route the SMA connector through
the back case and reinstall the front
case onto the back case.
11.
Connect
THE PROLTE-
EXTCX
cable
to the external antenna.
12.
Permanently mount the antenna
vertically
using the double-
sided self
-
adhesive and the included hardware.
12.
Reinstall the side cover.
13.
Install the control panel
onto the wall
or desk mount
.
14.
Reconnect the backup battery and
plug in the power supply.
15.
Install the rear cas
e and secure with
the screw.
16.
Per
form a Communication Test.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT EXTERNAL ANTENNAS
If an external cellular radio antenna is used, the antenna may be installed or replaced ONLY by a professional installer.
TO THE INSTALLER
PROLTE
-A
The external antenna must not exceed a maximum directional gain (including cable loss) of 6.
63 dBi at 700 and
850 MHz, 6.0 dBi at 1700 MHz
and
8.51 dBi at
1900 MHz.
Under no
conditions may an antenna gain be used that would exceed the ERP and EIRP power limits as specified in
Part
s 22H and 24E and 27.
PROLTE
-V
The external antenna must not exceed a maximum directional gain (including cable
loss) of 6.
94 dBi at
700
MHz
6.0 dB
i at 1700 MHz at and
9.01
dBi at 1900 MHz. Under no conditions may an antenna gain be used that would exceed the ERP and EIRP power limits as specified
in Part
s 22H
and 24E and 27.
PROLTE
-CN
The external antenna gain sha
ll not exceed
6.63
dBi for 700MHz
and 850
MHz,
6.0
dBi for 1700MHz and 8.51
dBi for 1900MHz. Under no
conditions may an antenna gain be used that would exceed the ERP and EIRP power limits as specified
