Can an L5000, L5100, L5200, L5210 or L7000 Work Together?
No, an L5000, L5100, L5200, L5210 and L7000 cannot work together. This is because they are all independent panels that are not designed to function with a separate security system. If you are looking to add a secondary access point for your Lynx Touch panel, a 5828 Keypad can be used.
It is impossible for a Lynx Touch panel to interface with another security system. All of the Lynx Touch systems are independent, and they will not work in conjunction with a separate security panel. However, there is an appropriate alternative option for a user who wants to add a secondary access point to their Lynx Touch system. This method involves using a Honeywell 5828 Wireless Keypad to control the panel. By using a 5828 Keypad, a user can arm and disarm their panel and check the status of their system from a second location.
Unlike most wireless devices in Honeywell's 5800 Series, the 5828 Keypad only features an RF signal range of about 50 feet away from the panel. This is due to FCC restrictions that limit the transmission range of devices capable of sending and receiving data from a security system. However, it is possible to extend this limited range using a wireless repeater, such as the Honeywell 5800RP.
Another aspect of the 5828 Keypad that makes it unique is that it does not take up a wireless zone on a security system. This means that an unlimited number of keypads can theoretically be connected with a single Lynx Touch panel.
Setting up a 5828 Keypad with a Lynx Touch system is a relatively easy process that can be fully completed by most end users. You will need to know the Installer Code for your Lynx Touch panel (the default is 4112) in order to do this.
Additionally, users also have the option of using a 5828V Keypad instead of the standard 5828. The 5828V provides the same function as the 5828, but the 5828V is able to provide spoken voice annunciation as well.
