Can I Connect an Android Phone to a DSC Impassa?

Yes, you can connect an Android Phone to a DSC Impassa. To do this, the DSC Impassa must be connected with Alarm.com and be receiving active cellular monitoring service. A user can use the Alarm.com Mobile App on their Android Phone to control their connected DSC Impassa Alarm System.

In order for an Android Phone to control a DSC Impassa System, the Alarm.com Mobile App must be installed. This app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. Using this app, a user can login to their Alarm.com account to control a connected DSC Impassa. Once a user is logged-in, they can arm and disarm their system, operate Z-Wave home automation devices and check the current status of sensors.

But a DSC System can only readily connect with Alarm.com if it has active cellular monitoring service. This requires both an Alarm.com compatible cellular communicator and a cellular alarm monitoring plan. Fortunately, the panel comes the cellular communicator already installed. The panel must be running firmware version 1.3 or higher to support a cellular communicator. If the user is an Alarm Grid customer, they will need a Gold or Platinum level monitoring plan.
