Can I Get Monitoring If I Install an L5200 Myself?
Yes, Honeywell’s Lynx Touch L5200 is a self contained wireless alarm system which is easy to install, program and very user friendly. Alarm Grid provides many step by step how to videos on youtube and many written instructions on their website. Alarm Grid also provides free tech support to those who have questions and need help.
There are several communication options Honeywell’s Lynx Touch L5200 provides to be monitored. A user can select a cell communicator, wifi, internet or dual communication. The compatible cell communicator is Honeywell’s GSMVLP5-4G which installs directly inside the panel. For Wifi connection, Honeywell’s L5100Wifi module is also installed directly inside the panel. Install Honeywell’s ILP5 provides an internet connection. To utilize dual communication, install the GSMVLP5-4G and L5100Wifi module. The first path of dual communication is wifi and if the signal does not go thru after 2 attempts, the cell communicator will then send the signal. Connecting via wifi or internet is the most affordable option, however if the users internet goes down for any reason, the communication between the alarm system and AlarmNet servers will be lost. A cell communicator is more reliable with the dual communication being the best of both.
The Lynx Touch L5200 also provides the option to integrate zwave devices. Installing a L5100zwave module allows a user to control lights, door locks, thermostats, water valves and shades locally or remotely by connecting with Total Connect 2.0. The L5100zwave module also connects directly inside the panel.
Honeywell’s Lynx Touch L5200 can be monitored by any alarm company that provides monitoring. Alarm Grid offers three monitoring plans, two of which provide Total Connect 2.0.
