Can I Program a Lyric Gateway Through Total Connect?
No, you are not able to program a Lyric Gateway through Total Connect.
The Lyric Gateway is the newest all-in-one panel released by Honeywell. The Gateway ships with a built in Ethernet or WIFI communicator as well as a Z-Wave controller. The Gateway can also have a cellular module (compatible with the Verizon or AT&T network) installed via the easy to access port. All of the systems communication can be sent over Ethernet or WIFI, Cellular or both in a Dual Path setup. When using both communication paths, the system will automatically switch to an active path if the primary path fails. The Gateway is compatible with the new SIX Series Sensors, as well as all wireless 5800 Series devices that don’t require a House ID to operate. Honeywell does plan to release a firmware update to enable the House ID feature on the Gateway sometime in the future.
Total Connect 2.0 is a web based app that can be run through a web browser or via a downloadable app for Android and iOS devices. Using the app or the web page, a user is able to remotely access their system. They can arm and disarm, create, edit and delete users, create and run smart scenes, check system events and set up email and/or text notifications for system events. Access to Total Connect 2.0 is typically granted through an alarm company that has access to the dealer services on AlarmNet.
Through Total Connect 2.0, the user is not able to program zone configuration, or system settings. Because the gateway doesn’t have a screen through which to program, the only way to access programming options is through AlarmNet 360. An end user will not have access to the AlarmNet 360 programming menus, so they will need to contact their alarm company to request any programming updates. Programming which can be performed only through AlarmNet 360 includes adding/editing/deleting zones, including voice descriptors, and all system settings such as entry/exit delay times, enabling confirmation of arming, and so on.
