Can I Turn Off Arm-Confirm on a Qolsys IQ Panel Alarm System?
No, you cannot turn off Arm-Confirm on a Qolsys IQ Panel Alarm System. This is because the system does not have an Arm-Confirm feature. The system will not produce any loud tone when Arming Away using a key fob or keypad. Instead, the system acts as if it were armed from the panel.
When a user arms their system using a key fob or keypad, they might want some way to know that the arming command went through successfully. Some panels do this with an Arm-Confirm feature. This feature will have the panel produce a brief, loud tone whenever a user Arms Away using a remote key fob or keypad.
In most cases, the Arm-Confirm feature only works when Arming Away. This is because Arming Away requires the user to vacate the premises immediately to avoid setting off false alarms. However, the user can stay in the building when Arming Stay. A system set to Arm Stay assumes that at least one person is staying inside the building.
Some users might find the Arm-Confirm tone to be loud and annoying when they arm using a key fob or keypad. That is why most panels with the feature will provide some way to turn it off. This is usually found within a sounders option of system programming. But since the IQ Panel doe not have the feature, it does not have such a menu option.
Please note that the IQ Panel will still produce the usual tones and chimes when you arm using a key fob or keypad. It just won't produce a loud tone that can be heard from a considerable distance. However, the panel will still give acknowledgement that the system is being armed. If you arm from a key fob or keypad, you will still see that the panel arms like normal.
