Can I Turn Off the Siren for an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5?
Yes, you can turn off the siren for an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5. You must know the system Installer Code to do this. The option is found within the Siren Options sub-menu of system programming. By unchecking the option for "Panel Piezo Alarm", the internal siren will be disabled.
Complete the following steps to turn off the siren for an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 System:
1. Access siren options. Start from the home screen of the Simon XTi or XTi-5 System. Press the gear icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. Use the down arrow on the right side of the screen to scroll down to Programming. Press the "Enter" button next to programming. Then enter in the system's Installer Code. The default Installer Code is 4321. Then press the "OK" button. Click on "Siren Options" to enter the Siren Options sub-menu.
2. Disable the siren. Locate the option for "Panel Piezo Alarm". Click on the box next to it to toggle its settings. If the white box has a green check mark in it, then the siren is enabled. But if the white box is empty, then the siren is disabled. Since you are disabling the siren, you want the white box to be empty. Once you have confirmed that all the siren settings are appropriately configured, press the "Save" button in the upper-right corner of the screen. Any changes that were made will automatically be saved.
3. Exit programming. Press the "Close" button in the upper-right corner of the screen to exit programming and return to the main menu. The next time your system goes into alarm, its internal siren should not sound.
Remember, you may still need to adjust the settings for any hardwired external sirens that are being used with the Simon XTi or XTi System. Also remember that you can re-enable the internal siren from the Siren Options menu at any time.
