Can I Update the Firmware On a Honeywell L5210, L7000 Alarm System?

Yes, you can update the firmware on a Honeywell L5210 or L7000 Alarm System. However, you will need a Honeywell LYNXTOUCH-MSD Firmware Updater Tool to successfully perform the upgrade. It is no longer possible to push down an automatic over-the-air (OTA) firmware update to these panels.

Performing a firmware update on a Honeywell LYNX Touch System is necessary for unlocking certain features and functions for the system. You may need to update the firmware to use a newer communicator or to fix various bugs and problems. That is why keeping your system on the latest firmware is very important.

By purchasing the Honeywell LYNXTOUCH-MSD Firmware Updater Tool, you will be able to conveniently update the firmware on your L5210 or L7000 whenever a new update comes available. The LYNXTOUCH-MSD uses a micro-SD card that has the latest firmware installed. If a new firmware version is released, you can first apply the update to the LYNXTOUCH-MSD and its micro-SD card.
