Can I Use the Honeywell IPCAM-WOC1 with My Lyric?

No, you cannot use the Honeywell IPCAM-WOC1 with your Lyric. This camera does not connect directly with a panel. Instead, you stream it from Total Connect 2.0. This is an interactive platform that is frequently used with the Lyric. But you cannot stream an IPCAM-WOC1 directly from a Lyric.

The Honeywell IPCAM-WOC1 is an IP security camera designed for use with the Total Connect 2.0 service. What's unique about this camera is that it weatherproof and designed for use in an outdoor environment. The camera can capture video at up to 1080p quality, and it offers IR night vision from up to 65 feet away. The device is also sometimes referred to as the Lyric OC1. The camera is connected with a 2.4 GHz WIFI network for regular use.

In order to use the IPCAM-WOC1, you will need access to Total Connect 2.0. This will require an appropriate alarm monitoring plan that includes both TC2 access and video monitoring service. For Alarm Grid customers, this is a Platinum Plan, a Self-Platinum Plan or a Video-Only Plan. You will use TC2 for all camera-related activities. This includes viewing the live feed for the camera, viewing recorded clips, setting recording schedules, setting camera notifications, creating smart scenes to initiate recordings and more.

Most Lyric System users will have access to Total Connect 2.0 as part of their monitoring service. However, they will still need to obtain a video plan to use the IPCAM-WOC1. Even then, it will never be possible to stream the live feed for the IPCAM-WOC1 Camera directly from the Resideo Lyric Panel.

If you really want a camera that you can stream directly from the Lyric, you can get an older-style Honeywell Legacy IP Camera. These cameras are non-HD, and they are no longer in production. But if you are able to find one of these cameras, it may still be possible to activate them with Total Connect 2.0. This will only work if the legacy camera was online to receive a critical update from Resideo. You can then pair the legacy camera with your Lyric from the "Video" option on the main panel screen. You will then be able to view the live feed directly from the Lyric System.

Note: The Total Connect 2.0 Legacy IP Cameras can only be used if they were online at the time when Resideo pushed down an OTA update to make them compatible with an updated TC2 platform. Any legacy camera that was not online to receive this update can no longer be used. You must be very careful when purchasing used legacy TC2 IP Cameras, as many people will try to pass off bricked models on unsuspecting buyers. Please read this FAQ for more information.
