Can the Honewyell T5 Thermostat Be Used w/ a Lyric Security System?

No, the Honeywell T5 Thermostat cannot be used with a Lyric Security System. There is no way to operate the device directly from the Lyric Panel. But the T5 is great for Lyric users, as it can be used with Apple HomeKit and the Honeywell Home App. It can also integrate with Total Connect 2.0.

The T5 Thermostat must either be paired with Apple HomeKit or the Honeywell Home App. The device will need to be connected with a WIFI network before any pairing can be completed. To pair the device with Apple HomeKit, the user should press the "Add Device" button in the HomeKit App. To pair the device with the Honeywell Home App, the user should press the "Install a Device" button. The Honeywell Home App can be downloaded for free on both Android and iOS devices from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Once the T5 has been paired with the Honeywell Home App, the user can integrate the device with Total Connect 2.0 by providing the TC2 service with the same login information as what is used with the Honeywell Home App. Any commands that are sent through the Honeywell Home App, Apple HomeKit or Total Connect 2.0 will pass through the WIFI network to the device. But please note that the user will never be able to control the device from the automations menu on the Lyric Controller.
